I've had my Gmail account with a dotted version of my first and last name for years (first.last@gmail). Over the last few months, I've periodically gotten emails for someone with a non-dotted version of my name in Australia. Seems that Gmail sometimes doesn't recognize the difference.
I've not detected any suspicious activity but I also don't want to get into a situation where important emails are going into this person's inbox. My sent mail is clean.
Since it's very difficult to actually contact google (I will try through Send Feedback), does anyone know how this should be handled? Contact the owner of the other email address to see if they are getting my mail? Just delete the account and add a new one?
Thanks.

But is that a problem? When I signed up for GMail i created the account with the dotted email address, not without dots. Some of these were personal correspondence about flats - maybe he's giving out the address as fake?
are from actual people. No links, no files.
dots dont matter. Doesn't matter what you created the gmail address with dots or without

It's spam dude. Just mark it as spam and move on with your life
I used to respond to them, pointing out the wrong email. But after a while, I just deleted them when they came in.
I've been having a different recent problem with Gmail. Starting about four or five weeks ago, I get obvious phishing attempts making it into my inbox almost daily. I'm not sure why Google isn't catching them on the way in. I report each one.
