Vs a backup qb or not, to make it back to the nfc title game after the collapse in last years Super Bowl is a hell of an accomplishment . What a bounce back to be back in that position. Hope they go take this whole thing honestly. Jaguars are the only other team Im kinda pulling for because of Coughlin
But I just dont see many realistic game scripts where Philly wins. Philly is going to have to get a ton of pressure and a defensive score or two plus a big game from Ajayi.
Collingsworth saying no biggie with the fumble, the PI was basically like a punt. Umm no Chris, without the fumble the Eagles get at least three there.
they need to feed Coleman and ride the hot hand. The Eagles secondary is vulnerable especially in playaction, just keep running and then take some shots.
and of course with Coleman hit they go back to Freeman. I simply cant understand this. Its not the regular season anymore, ride the hot hand and win the fucking game.
He had it. Hit the ground. Ball did not rotate in his hands. His hands were glued to the ball. That is a catch. This stuff sucks. Fix the fucking rule
Come on that was not even close to a catch. That ball was sliding around his hands and actually hit the ground. Only time it stopped moving was after it hit the ground.
That was a catch!

But even on this thread the interpretation is that if any part of the ball hits - it is incomplete.
The thing is - how can a play with such polarizing opinions be overturned? That's what continually happens.
not sure why they called that offside, who moved on the Eagles while he was in the neutral zone directly across from him? The eagles players poijnted, but they didnt move
with another big game blunder. Tevin Coleman with 79 yards on 10 rushes yet isnt fed the ball and keeps telegraphing runs with Freeman. Blank should send him packing.
in with the Eli crap here. Eli never effin makes the playoffs but let's get on Matt Ryan because his team lost a playoff game where Julio Jones fell down on 4th down. OK.

And shovel/fumble passed like down in the red zone. If that was Eli, we'd all be talking about that now. But when it's a "top QB" like Matty Ice, all is forgiven. He gets a pat on the back for scoring 10 pts in the playoffs.

If Eli and the Giants just lost a playoff game vs Eagles trash secondary and backup QB Eli and the Giants would be getting skewered in the media and on this board.
on 1st & goal. Also still wondering why Schwartz didnt warrant an interview . Philadelphia has played great defense this season , working in new DBs .
The first of 3 dumb play calls. But that shovel pass was dumb but add a rollout with one option on a 4th down play near the EZ and those three play calls were spectacular in its stupidity
fun with you guys who make everything about Eli. Hopefully when get a new QB you won't be so defensive about him that you have to trash every friggin QB in the league when his team loses a playoff game.

In this corner of the Internet, coming up short to the Eagles is different that just coming up short.
who get paid millions off dollars don't understand how to manage the clock. First play when it was first and goal HAS to be a run! Eagles would then have no time OR no timeouts and you likely are closer to the end zone for your three attempts to win the game.

Completely disagree and think either will beat the Eagles next week. Minny's D will smother Foles and his O. Kennum won't have to do much but position them for a few FGs.
Brees and his O will score plenty on the Eagles secondary, and their D will limit Foles as well.
Eagles going down at home next week will be a great ending to the NFC year.
Manning hasn't played a bad playoff game in forever because he's not been to one in forever.
LMAO...Talk about a swing and a miss, he was in one last year. You know the one where our Receivers dropped multiple passes at least two of them for TD's?
No I'm referring to the horrible job the Giants generally have done at managing their roster. It sucks and it's certainly not a source of pride.
Why is it that they can't even keep a roster together long enough to be in the playoffs consistently during their success cycles.. it's really strange.

I think this was supposed to go to #80 Toilolo. He engages the DE, then starts to break upfield. However, #53 Bradham comes flying in and blows Toilolo up.
It also looks like the center and left guard released and headed up field.
Eli as much as the next Giants fan. He's the best qb in Giants history. But for people to be on here pointing out Ryan's flaws while ignoring Eli's is just putting on rose colored glasses. The Giants haven't had a serious chance to compete for the NFC championship since 2012. Think about that. They haven't even been to the division round in 6 season. That's an eternity and a half in the NFL. I understand Eli isn't the entire reason for that. But he certiantly hasn't risen above his circumstances.
Case in point, the Giants have a 10 point lead on the Jets a couple of season ago. Coughlin elects to go for it on 4th down and trust his qb over his D. His qb proceeds to panic and throw an INT. Does a Brady or Brees do that, I don't know? To me it's just evidence that Eli hasn't risen above his circumstances over the past several seasons, despite putting up some nice numbers.
The crowd that wants to pass in a qb this year and go with Eli the next two years seems to be just delaying the inevitable and acquiescencing to more mediocre or worse football. That's why I'm all in on drafting one of the top 2 qbs and going for a rebuild. Maybe it works maybe it doesn't. But we're not being honest with ourselves if we think this is a team that's a piece or two away from a sb run.

Look at the resources committed to the Falcons offense in terms of draft picks, trades, and FA acquisitions since Ryan was selected.
Despite all of that Matty Ice comes up small in the biggest spots. Last year he ran like God and still couldnt close the deal on a championship.

I understand the criticism of Ryan. At least his team is in a position to compete. When was the last time the Giants were in that position? Losing 38-13 in Green Bay is not being competitive. Why not stat over? The pick is there, there are two potential qbs there, go for it!

Being in a position to compete is just a cocktease if you have a QB incapable of winning a big game.

I'm not arguing Eli's merits. He was able to accomplish something that no other qb has to date. But, how long are we all willing to live in the past? Is it such a bad thing to take a shot at a top young qb and try to duplicate the success of Eli and Co from 2005-2012? I'd rather say goodbye to him a year early then a year too late. This is a franchise that doesn't have an opportunity to draft top young qbs too often. And, they haven't exactly flopped on their last two true first round qb selections/acquisitions ( it may be selective, but I don't count Dave Brown in that, he was- for all intents and purposes- a second round selection to me).
Anything can happen, but Atlanta's corners are playing really well and Foles has been garbage their last two games.
It was yesterday, it'll be in the high 20s by kickoff
Yes. In Florida.
It will be the best thing for the Giants this year!
Right?!

Glad they've pinned them back. Eagles O has been sloppy and making mistakes. ATL doesn't need to be taking risks at this point.
Sheesh.
Up the middle with blount, East then West with the other guy.
Only within the final two minutes of each half, I believe.
Dopey bastid. I couldn't believe it while it was happening.
Yes! Even a FG.
You know he's got a bottle of milk and a robe on the sideline
Filthadelphia knows how to cheat.
He is really around the ball all the time...
How the fck you couldn't tell right away that Foles wasn't in for that TD is simply egregious.
What the hell else are they looking at?

When Ryan takes his team in the final 2 mins on his shoulders and wins two Super Bowls doing it against two of the best teams in the history of the NFL you can tell me all about it until then the Ryan argument is a complete fucking farce
Yes indeed

Huge non-call on 4th and goal. If that was Eli to Beckham people would be blowing a gasket.
