I find it incredibly annoying that Giants.com just posted a feature praising Justin Pugh and his play this season as front page news.
Like...the dude more likely than not will be with the team next season and while it doesn't matter what the post in reality, its just annoying and disconnected to chose him as a "player spotlight".
and can’t stay on the field. He’s likely to get a huge contract and his flexibility is a major selling point too, but I don’t think it’s going to come from us.
But not everyone that plays for our teams was born or grew up in NYC. The fact that they were Eagles fans growing up has nothing at all to do with Pugh's fragility or Apple's fragility (temperment).
What's the alternative, scout and draft only kids who grew up Giants fans?
The Giants aren't the only team aware of his injury history. If he needs to sign a one-year deal to prove he can stay healthy (or not), the Giants make as much sense as anyone.
Bet big money that Pugh is an Eagle next year. They are going to be tough for a bit I think.
They're actually up against the cap next year, projected to have a little under 2 mill available as of now. Add a projected 4 mill for the cap increase and assume somewhere between 5-7 mill saved in cutting ties with some vets and maybe an extension for Brandon Graham, who has been vocal about a new deal, and they may have around 10 mill. Shave off around 4 for rookie deals and they aren't left with much. At least not enough to bring in any big ticket FAs.
RE: I'd put it at 50-50 that he returns next year.... Â

If I'm a betting man, I think DG lets Pugh walk and brings in Norwell from Carolina.
Dude is a rock at LG, and one of DGs best pickups while in Carolina.
Pugh is a fragile schmuck regardless of his favorite team.

I live in Kuwait see tons of people from all over the world with Giants, Yankees and Dolphins hats or gear approach many of them they have absolutely no clue about the teams, that shit hurts me.
so they should now ask if prospective draftees are lifelong NYG fans? Â

Sure it makes for a good story when a local kid joins "his" team as a pro but other than that IMO it's a none factor.
Didn’t think so.

Sorry Greg had to

How is Pugh a schmuck?
FYI, Lawrence taylor was a lifelong Cowboys fan before being drafted by the Giants. Should they not have taken him?
