How does that happen?
What makes that play even..
FatMan in Charlotte : 1/14/2018 8:25 pm : link
worse is that the Saints took a timeout to discuss it.
Brees

was awesome in defeat.

Why are we confident that Shurmur isn t the hire?

Is Bug Grant sitting the stands - that was pretty cool.

Not sure what that was. But it will be a long plane ride home for him.

No chance. He wanted to unload and make a highlight hit. Even a PI keeps them in the game.

epic coaching failure combined with a stupid play.

And by all rights, Diggs should've gone out of bounds because if he doesn't score, they lose.

He must've realized nobody was behind him

they just showed another angle. once Diggs caught the ball turned around stood up there was no-one near him - he looked back a few times as he ran but he knew he was scoring ..

Marcus Williams needs to be cut. The only objective there is TACKLING not hitting. Fatal error.

Dont even let him on the plane.

Biggest failure Ive ever seen by a single player on D with the game on the line, and to make matters worse he bowled right into the only teammate that could have made the save

Total imbecile. There is no excuse. Tackling continues be a lost art.

Tackling, tackling, tackling....

Not only did that poor kid miss any contact with Diggs

Diggs's first instinct wasn't to go out of bounds.

If somebody was behind him, and he's tackled, the game's over.

it's cyclical.

poor officiating, limited practice time, and the intrusion of politics made for some problems - still greatest game going

Today was like an homage to Reese's failures - Coughlin and the Jags, Linval Joseph, Engram instead of Ramcyzk, linebackers making plays.

what happened to the Saints was my fear at the end of both Patriot Super Bowls. From the bomb to Moss that was just tipped away by Webster but came really damn close, to the Hail Mary where Gronk was a split second late. What an awful way to lose a playoff game and end your season. Particularly because the winner of this game, IMO, goes into Philly and wins next week.

After I posted this, Payton confirmed it in the presser - afraid of getting called for a penalty.

Engram looks like he will be a special player. Coughlin needed to go when he did. When the message stops getting through a change needs to be made. Yeah it sucked losing Linval Joseph, but at the time we had more needs to be filled that the extra money could have helped with

Because the Vikes could have completed a 20 yard pass and been in FG range.

My brother and I were droning on and on entire second half about how cursed the Vikings fan base is and their whole postseason history. We were calling the blown lead before and as it was happening. And then boom. I'm still giddy after that. How can you not love that ending.

That's a top ten probably top five
djm : 1/14/2018 9:48 pm : link
NFL game all time for me. Let's exclude Super Bowls for the sake of it. Top 5 game. Easy. It had it all. Defense, offense, big plays throughout. Hof players or all pros all over the field. The Cinderella qb that is legit good not bullshit good with keenum. The hofer qb in Brees. You even had a 100 year old Vikings fan in the stands. Hope she's ok. Seriously. And then the fourth quarter. And then that ending. Unreal.
The only finishes as crazy as this to me have to be...
BestFeature : 1/14/2018 10:01 pm : link
...the Music City Miracle and the Immaculate Reception. What a finish!
What that reminded me most of was Phillips in the 2010 Philly game
Greg from LI : 1/14/2018 10:17 pm : link
when he inexplicably went flying past Brent Celek on what turned out to be a long touchdown that started the Eagle comeback. Just like Williams is, Phillips was a very good safety who made an incredibly bad decision at the worst possible time.
Keenan scares the hell

On the other hand, the Eagles couldn't do much against the Falcons defense, and the Vikings defense is a damned sight better than theirs.
