I'm pulling for Minny, but the refs are ruining this game, at least for me.

Thats a little melodramatic. Every team thats won so far in the playoffs did so on merit not ref assistance.
Watching grass grow. The Vikings front 7 is toying with the Saints and Payton is doing NOTHING to counter. When the Patriots whip the Vikings in the Super Bowl, the lesson will be revealed finally. Spread the Vikings out, empty your backfield and challenge those DBs to cover a lot of ground. That is a run stuffing machine in Minnesota, but they will get shellacked by Brady and company, they are simply too big and too slow to chase Lewis, White, Hogan and Amendola all over the field for 60 minutes.
Thats a little melodramatic. Every team thats won so far in the playoffs did so on merit not ref assistance.
You could easily make a case that the Titans beat the Chiefs because Mariota was inexplicably ruled to have his forward progress stopped on an immediate sack and fumble.
It's really easy to win on merit when the refs gift points or take turnovers away. Hell, the Saints get called for a PI that put the ball at the 6 on a play where the WR fell down.
And I haven't said the refs are winning games for teams - I'm saying they've been fucking horrific. I mean terrible. Some of the errors have been not even knowing the rules.

Who lost this year because of the refs? These officiating posts come off as pedantic bitching.
I'll point out that I'm saying the officiating is horrific. Triplette's crew fucked up a rules matter and failed to spot the ball properly (3 yards short!).
Quote:
Who lost this year because of the refs? These officiating posts come off as pedantic bitching.
But since you are calling it pedantic bitching, you only have to look to last week where the Chiefs, already up two scores, sacked and caused Mariota to fumble, getting the ball near midfield. Instead, it was ruled forward progress stopped and the Titans retained possession.
The refs if not caused the Jets to lose to the Pats, certainly impacted the result, as they did the same to the Lions vs. the Falcons.
But again - my point isn't that they are throwing games - they have simply been terrible. Indefensibly terrible. Hell, even after last night's Pats game, there have been columns today talking about the perception of biased refereeing. I'm not even claiming bias - I'm claiming incompetence.
I remember when I was belittled about taking Thomas although we got an excellent player in Sterling Sheppard
Thomas is a baller does so many things great
wasn't he a QB in college ?
RE: Shocking what speed and talent at the LB position will do for a team
Last 2 Minny possessions if they slow the clock down he game is already over.
Running plays w/ 10 seconds left.
ZIMMER should be fired.
And I want NO part of Shurmur now.
Coaching horribly.
he should have ran at least one run in that last set of downs, and drained the clock.
His offense was too conservative in the 2nd half and the Saints dialed up more pressure. They should have been more aggressive as 17pts is not enough against the Saints if they get rolling.
don't understand clock management. Vikings needed to run the ball on first down. Can't leave the other team with any time. Its just as important as scoring the points. Two teams are going home because of it.
Unreal....

Great balance by Diggs...Excellent throw by Keenum to give him room to stay inbounds or step out.
Maybe arm tackles by secondary will be taught again.
"We lost the game because of"......a cut tackle.
Still think Z should be fired...still want no part of Shurmur.
to take his legs out is indicitive of the way people play the game now. Head down and he was almost covering his eyes. take him down and the games over. also put himself in a position to get a penalty launching blindly
when the Ravens beat the Broncos to Jacoby Jones in the Mile High Miracle.
Marcus Williams needs to be cut. The only objective there is TACKLING not hitting. Fatal error.
Dont even let him on the plane.
Biggest failure Ive ever seen by a single player on D with the game on the line, and to make matters worse he bowled right into the only teammate that could have made the save
Not sure what that was. But it will be a long plane ride home for him.
Poor SOB will have his headphones on staring blankly out the window of the bus/plane by himself wishing he could have a redo of the last two hours of his life

they just showed another angle. once Diggs caught the ball turned around stood up there was no-one near him - he looked back a few times as he ran but he knew he was scoring ..

what happened to the Saints was my fear at the end of both Patriot Super Bowls. From the bomb to Moss that was just tipped away by Webster but came really damn close, to the Hail Mary where Gronk was a split second late. What an awful way to lose a playoff game and end your season. Particularly because the winner of this game, IMO, goes into Philly and wins next week.
#saints Rookie safety Marcus Williams feel to his knees on his way to locker room after his missed tackle cost saints the game and then inside the locker cried with his head in his hands.
just to stoke up the Jerry Reese flame, but Ryan Ramcyzk was awesome in that game. Gave up zero pressures.
Today was like an homage to Reese's failures - Coughlin and the Jags, Linval Joseph, Engram instead of Ramcyzk, linebackers making plays.
Engram looks like he will be a special player. Coughlin needed to go when he did. When the message stops getting through a change needs to be made. Yeah it sucked losing Linval Joseph, but at the time we had more needs to be filled that the extra money could have helped with

NFL game all time for me. Let's exclude Super Bowls for the sake of it. Top 5 game. Easy. It had it all. Defense, offense, big plays throughout. Hof players or all pros all over the field. The Cinderella qb that is legit good not bullshit good with keenum. The hofer qb in Brees. You even had a 100 year old Vikings fan in the stands. Hope she's ok. Seriously. And then the fourth quarter. And then that ending. Unreal.
The only finishes as crazy as this to me have to be...
when he inexplicably went flying past Brent Celek on what turned out to be a long touchdown that started the Eagle comeback. Just like Williams is, Phillips was a very good safety who made an incredibly bad decision at the worst possible time.

You're damned right, brother!
When did he hire Marvin Lewis to sit in the booth and advise him on these?
Lol he just topped himself
Terrible.
He really did outdo himself!!
Possibly. The silver lining may be that Forbath spazzes out on a re-kick.
A catch called out of bounds where the receiver gets 2 feet in
bceagles is on a roll this week! :)
It might come down to Forbath. Keenum needs to get them another 30 yards.
Let's see if he can lead them to a game winning field goal.
Possibly, but 1:25 and 1 timeout to get in FG range is still very doable
Doesn't matter. Brees is carving them up.

Long ride home to New Orleans for that guy.
Id imagine if Romo hit that pass at the end of the 2007 divisional game we could relate to what the saints fans are feeling right about now.
For every Bills/Jags horror, you get a day of entertaining games like today. THANKFULLY.
It wasn't so it doesn't matter. And no.

On the other hand, the Eagles couldn't do much against the Falcons defense, and the Vikings defense is a damned sight better than theirs.
