He is the reason good coaches don't want to come here. He's too old, coaches don't want to teach him a new system. If Mara forces Eli on a new coach, he won't take the job unless it's someone like Wilks who is desperate to coach. Now more than ever it's time to move on from Eli. Release or trade him and start this franchise over from the start. Losing good coaches to the Lions and Colts, it's time to look in the mirror.
also, if Mara is forcing players on coaches then it confirms what I think about him— he meddles way too much and needs to take a large step back.

Yeah..the only guy who showed up to Green Bay A SEASON AGO. I swear some of you are insufferable.
However the #2 pick more than balances what we might term the “situation.” Gettleman has to be telling these guys that the Calvary is on the way. He has the short game and a long game vision.
Patricia to the lions with Quinn and stafford is a safe move.
McDaniels to the colts with Luck, but more control is big gamble but 1 he seems willing to take.
This whole process sucks.

after the 1st quarter he was bad,the whole team was bad,go watch the game. he was very bad this past season. he is done.
Of course John Mara wouldn't dare do anything without your direct input and Bob Tisch relies heavily on your advice!
It's great to have all this insider info. BTW Give adam Scheffler my best, of course Mike G could hardly be left out of this conversation. It is a Conversation! Right?
Sorry, I didn't realize I was intruding on a Front office inner working meeting.
My apologies kind sirs.
This reminds me of the discussion of savoir fairre.
but I leave that for another time.

Learn the system. Real smart.
I was wondering the same thing! What did I have to drink last night?

Oh fuck me I thought it was you also thus the reason I was gentle in my response up above..LOL

Oh, and I hope it's not Calvary on the way, 2017 was quite enough! (:

Even if I were a coach that thought Eli sucked and was never anything, it wouldn't matter, because the Giants have the #2 pick in the draft.
Actually - you're right. Barring something crazy Eli will be playing opening day 2018 somewhere. Luck? Who knows.
The reality is Eli is overpaid for his results over the last 3-4 years. Yeah OL bad Mac Magoo didn't like Eli etc...
The simple fact is Eli is a statute, and he doesn't have the quick read ability of peyton ,Brady etc.. so he gets sacked/intercepted more than he should.
If Eli wants to help future QB's by restructuring contract and becoming a player/mentor GREAT.
If not cut/trade him IMMEDIATELY

But it’s certainly possible ppl around the league don’t view Eli as a legit starting NFL QB. IMO he’s average, and that’s probably a stretch.

To be fair the Colts have 3rd pick so they'll end up with a good player as well.
This HC position will outlive the Eli era.
Actually, Gettleman will be the one making the call as well.
And having a successful team within whatever Eli's limitations are so that his replacement carries the success on.
2016 was a mirage. We've been average at best since 2012 due to player selection and/or coaching. While we have good players, one or more of guys like OBJ, Snacks, Jackrabbit, and others may be gone in 2020. Blame, if you want, was more player selection than coaching: a max 5 good players on 40 draft picks, and a huge dropoff in talent picked after rd 2 from 2012 through 2017; so much so we had to BUY a D.
We needed change....5 years ago at the GM/scouting staff.

Have been thinking this same thing. No coach wants to be the one to come in here and end Eli's career. Especially after what just happened this year when they tried to bench him. These coaches want to come in here and start new. They don't want Eli around. He's done. Giants have a major issue that these coaches don't want to deal with and they brought it on themselves the way they handles it by catering to Eli and fans
Actually, Gettleman will be the one making the call as well.
this. Eli era has ended or coming to an end. Why go to a job that has a bunch of ugliness to deal with and no idea who the future QB might be.
The more I think on this if Shurmur gets the gig, bring Keenum or draft somebody.
If that s what it takes to make your point why not. Lot s of people support their opinions by stating perception as fact, why not you.
I have no opinion on whom should coach the Giants or why someone would or wouldn't want to coach them because I understand I don t know enough to have a valid opinion.
Maybe that s a philosophy you should take on this coaching subject.
New coach wouldn't want..
1. Two time SB MVP
2. A guy proven that he can play behind an actual OL
3. The #2 pick in strong QB draft?
Its the perfect situation..
