We have our new HC. Do not know who yet. I know its not exactly groundbreaking information but i figured i would share...my assumption is its Wilks, but that is a guess. Either way, we apparently have our new coach.
Front office contact that told me Braylon Edwards to the Giants was a done deal and that they were signing Felix Jones a few years back but, word is it is McDaniels and he will retain Spags as his D coordinator- going back to the opportunity Spags gave him in St. Louis after his Denver HC job.

Interesting. As the names gravitate more towards an offensive head coach, I think the Mara family likes Spags and to Spags credit, the Giants played hard for him down the stretch. I wouldn't be shocked to see them keep him as DC.

Been there done that with Spags. Time for new blood.
I wanted an offensive coach with some experience with the expectation we'd take a QB at 2. I like Spags, but I would prefer to simply start fresh there.
There are several talented DC candidates available Â
George Edwards contract will expire at season's end. Kris Richard is also a FA. I hope the Giants at least take a look at other candidates rather than just settling on Spags.

Why are people so anti Spags? Did a tremendous job in 2016 with some talent, then this year the wheels fell off the entire team with injuries and the McAdoo effect.

Most of these guys know who will be coming with them when they interview.
Throw for 3,800+ yards in year one with not much talent on offense outside of Brandon Marshall... got fired in year 2 because the team struggled on top of him trying to trade Jay Cutler to New England for Matt Cassell and they didn't like that he benched Brandon Marshall for disciplinary reasons.

This is not asshat info by any means, but a good friend of mine in New England that happens upon some whispers sometimes said the word on the street up there is its McDaniels to the Giants and that McDaniels has no interest in Indy regardless of speculation.
Again, no idea if this is even true but figured I’d share...
(Steeler/old Eagles pre wide 9) zone and DLs reading and reacting and dropping into zones. The only chance a defense has now in the NFL is too attack the QB at all costs almost all the time.

McDaniels must've changed his mind after realizing he would be working for Jim Irsay.
For what exactly? I heard something and i shared it. We all want to know who our next HC is going to be - figured people would like to know it seems the team finally chose someone.
But you didn't share any information. If you don't say who was hired, that's not sharing.

How come no one on BBI remembers his legacy in Denver.
Are you really going to trust the guy who used the 25th pick in the draft (that he traded up to get) on Tim Tebow with our future franchise QB?
You said you heard from two different people. One was someone that you heard from in the past and the other someone new. How accurate is the person in the past with news

A. He has a strong GM in Gettleman
B. QBs selected at 2 versus 25 are apples to oranges
Gettleman leaned toward Wilks or Patricia after he and Patricia hit it off.
And that fuckin Mara leaned McDaniels or Shurmur based on a couple of failed head coaching records that help him sleep at night after he botched the McAdoo hire 2 years ago.

The "prior HC experience" may have been the deciding factor.

You play that game and you'll eliminate virtually every coach in the NFL, including BB.
Did he suck? yes. He was 31 years old. People grow, mature, develop and improve.
My source is telling me that Patricia to Detroit Â

Horrible in 2015. Horrible with the Rams and Saints. Must have Tom Quinn’s photos.

This is the part that has always stuck out for me. McAdoo was such a disaster and in over his head that as an owner, you get burned like that, you usually don't go back to the well again. Going after Patricia or Wilks both essentially is risking a defensive McAdoo. Shurmer and McDaniels always closer fit the bill for what Mara wanted.
Have wanted him fired for years. His leadership of “looking ahead to the Pats in the AFCC” was really hallmark. Can’t believe he said it on national TV too.
And most die hard steeler fans are fucking dense. Want to put my statement to the test? Meet me at north jersey bar during a steelers playoff game. Please.

Agreed. Either would work for me.
Well it looks like Shurmur maybe free on Monday given the NO score Â
This game just in case Minnesota loses. If Shurmur was number 2 and you had McDaniels number 1 then if Minnesota loses you have to make up your mind if you want to risk losing Shurmur for the chance at McDaniels. So, now that McDaniels is locked up (assumin it is McDaniels) it puts the Giants in a better position.

It is obviously McDaniels.
He said McDaniels?

Scroll up, logic says it's McDaniels and he agreed.

But maybe this goes hand in hand with a decision to go with a QB with the 2nd pick.
That's what I was thinking. Gettleman might have decided this was the better hire for the new QB they take with the 2nd pick.
In which case, either going with Shurmur or McDaniels makes total sense.
I wanted Wilks or Patricia for this very reason.
I really hope that’s not true.
The 2014 version of Luck?
God I hope you're source is wrong again.

AWESOME!!
We need a look at guys like Apple, Thompson, DRC and others through a lens other than Spagnuolo’s
An offensive minded HC with a great resume shouldn’t shock anyone. Whether it is Shurmur or McDaniels.

CHI- Nagy

NYG- McDaniels
IND- Vrabel
ARI- Shurmur
