NY/Dal 2007 division playoff game

kennyd : 1/14/2018 11:16 pm
So, clearly I'm either bored or I'm just feeling nostalgic this weekend but, either way, I just watched the 2007 Dallas playoff game. A few observations

*It's ALWAYS nice to watch Dallas lose, even 10 years later
* The combination of Strahan, Tuck and Osi was really fun to watch
*Jacobs was a beast. He just beat up their defense from the very first two plays.
* Feagles was amazing. A punting clinic.

Last observation - I think we are a long way away from that kind of football I'm sorry to say.
It took two years

for the hapless 2003 Giants to win the division. Four years into Coughlin's tenure, the team won the Super Bowl.

Things can change very quickly in the NFL, even for teams as bad as the 2017 Giants.

I get that. I guess it was more the style. The D line was so aggressive, Jacobs beating down the opposing D line, etc... Fingers crossed!

I don't want to seem jaded, but I agree kennyd

I've watched a few old games lately, too, and even the 2011 team--the one with the terrible O line and defense--was just so much more complete than the one we've been watching.

Also, watching these playoff teams--with running games, and pass protection (sometimes LOTS of it), and line backers. The Eagles had plays with three tight ends. Three tight ends! We seem very far from that.
