There are permanent ads blocking the top right of every page you open in the Forum. It never goes away.
As stated above, those are not pop-ups. Those are 300x250 stationary ads. I assume you are looking at the site via a mobile device. Forum isn't currently ideally adapted to mobile devices.
The Advertisements are what pays a large percentage of the Bills here
Are you kidding? This forum is very Profitable.
There may be other entities of funding, but this Forum should be considered a self contained business based on the payments received from advertising alone.
There is one factor that is not fair to innocent Giant
fans though.
That's the monitors looking keep the business expenses reduced by keeping thread counts to a certain number.
The advertising levels should not compete with the cost to
formulate thread lines which cost the company money. Its threads produced in contrast to advertising money coming into the business.

When it comes to the advertisers, they don't need you to observe it, they need you to respond immediately. Hence the advertisements interrupting your immediate connection to a thread- Its strictly business
