although no browser is guaranteed to work with all sites. Chome has the fastest rendering of any of the major browsers, its got lots of plugins and extensions and it can be customized for each site. For instance you can disable javascript on sites where it is a pain ( i.e. the New York Times ) but leave it intact for sites the must have it ( i.e. Facebook ). Its also got a built in Flash renderer for those sites that still require Flash ( i.e. mlb.com )
The one downside of Chrome and upside of Firefox is that Chrome forces you to upgrade. If one of their updates is buggy, to bad. Its very difficult to circumvent the auto upgrading with Chrome. Firefox also auto upgrades by default, but its easy to turn it off and make it optional. For additional stability you can use Firefox ESR. Upgrades are much less frequent
But, I'm getting close to ditching Firefox altogether. They recently upgraded to what was supposed to be a leaner and faster experience. On the contrary, I have days where virtually every site hangs for more than a minute or needs to be reloaded altogether. It is not a network issue, as the same sites load with no problem on Chrome on the same network.
I've got a Linux Mint problem I'd love to find a simple solution to.
I had been downloading regular updates and foolishly ignoring the "Low Disk Space on Filesystem root" warning.
I guess I went too far because now I can't get into Linux Mint at all.
Garbage Windows is also on the same machine, so I've been using that. I've been searching for a solution, but haven't found a clear one that seems to match my issue. Would you have an idea?
Internet Explorer as my fallback
Maybe I'll switch to chrome

I've been too lazy to ditch my Yahoo e-mail accounts, but Yahoo is crap too.
+1
Mosaic
Mosaic
Opera is lightning fast and has all the bells and whistles of the other browsers.
Safari is great, if you have a Mac/iOS device. It's my preferred personal browser.
I still use chrome for debugging for work, but I use firefox a lot more now.

If you decide that Chrome is more your thing, the Epic browser is a nice choice- it bills itself as a "privacy browser" and works very well...

I'm going to take a look at these, thanks. Chrome is an absolute resource hog. The new Firefox is pretty decent, but it's always worth a look.
IE for google voice (I don’t have a landline or cell)
