(The OL needs Depth and Starters)
OT - http://walterfootball.com/freeagents2018OT.php
OG - http://walterfootball.com/freeagents2018G.php
C - http://walterfootball.com/freeagents2018C.php
CB - http://walterfootball.com/freeagents2018CB.php (Depth and potentially a starter)
OLB - http://walterfootball.com/freeagents2018OLB.php (Still could use a stud at this level of the D)
DE - http://walterfootball.com/freeagents2018DE.php (JPP replacement is needed)
This is more crucial and telling that what we do in the draft and drives the draft decisions to some degree. Are we forgoing any type of SB run this year by trying to fix the OL and adding a couple of pieces on D and giving it a go? I mean why not if we are going to stall the rebuild for Eli to be the starter.
How is Bridgewater's knee? Does Minny let him walk if CK goes to the SB ... Hell do the unthinkable and win it?!?!
OT is a no brainer if he hits the market Solder
G Norwell. No brainer
C re sign Brett Jones then draft a center if possible.
Justin Pugh, G/OT, Giants. Age: 28.
Justin Pugh is one of the best guards in the NFL, but had to play out of his position at right tackle this year. He's a mediocre right tackle, but he needs to start in the interior to be most effective.

At LB, BJ needs to prove he can stay healthy and they'll probably look for a WILL to pair up with Dennard, or another inexpensive SAM.
The best ability is availability.
They need a whole new set of starting LBs.
Then the reality kicks in that a bunch of guys that are available would be better than who we currently have.

Need to resign Dennard first.
Quote:
Wouldn't expect them to spend much via UFA on CB or DE. Two prime expensive positions where they have considerable talent already, they need to draft some depth to develop behind them.

They may not want to, thus the reference to signing another inexpensive SAM.
draft barkley sign solder or norwell and develop webb another year if you dont think these QBs are worth it.
That said, if they don't love the QBs or if they do love Webb, then I wouldn't rule out Chubb.
re: CB - I'd re-sign Cockrell, but if they move on from DRC they still need another dependable CB (can't count on Apple as the #3).
OL - I'm not signing Pugh unless it's for a 1 year, "prove it" deal for like $5M. Very good player, but he can't stay healthy and you need continuity along the OL.

It's fascinating and annoying how often OTs get selected right before we are about to draft. Solder and Conklin are just two examples I can think of offhand.
Penn is 34. I would be okay with Solder I guess, but he is 30 and has some injury issues
he can be this teams Michael Barrow or Antonio Pierce.

Yea he is underrated. Not flashy but he has been one of the leading tacklers over the last 4 years and is still young. Also worth noting that he can play any of the LB positions.
They need as much help as they can get so Hubbard would be a good signing as depth. Let him compete with Flowers for the RT spot and if Flowers loses he should move inside to RG.
the ball for a yard .
