Here’s a comparison of the Vikings and Giants top offensive skill players (draft round in parenthesis) QB: Case Keenum (UFA) / Eli Manning (1st) RB: Latavius Murray (6th) / Wayne Gallman (4th) WR: Adam Thielen (UFA) / Odell Beckham Jr. (1st) WR: Stephon Diggs (5th) / Sterling Shepard (2nd) TE: Kyle Rudolph (2nd) / Evan Engram (1st) TE: David Morgan (6th) / Rhett Ellison (4th) |
only if picked by Reese
Thielen first two years without Shurmur:
a combined 281 yards
His two seasons with Shurmur as OC
967 yards
1276 yards
To clarify I am not saying that Thielen is a nobody without Shurmur. My point is that Shurmur helped to turn Thielen into a very good player.

I agree with that. He was a from a nowhere school and didn't even get a combine invite but his athletic ability would have placed him well. He needed to be developed, but I don't think he's a product of a system. Kind of a victor cruz story.
