Case Keenum said that Pat Shurmur was the most stress-free coach he’s ever had. Shurmur told Keenum that’s because he spent two years in Cleveland, per Fox broadcast.
isn't up to the task. Most guys when they get their Second chance, have learned what the scoop is and are better prepared to succeed. We will see, but I think they hit a bulls eye with this guy. The NY media will NOT be too big for him. He's got a little sarcasm in his personality, perfect for this market. And he's experienced and knows what he wants to get accomplished. I strongly suspect that, working with Gettleman, he knows that he needs to clean up a mess and get the arrow pointed upward.
HATED the Coughlin hiring, hated it, hell some of the players did for two years. Fast forward 13 years and he's a Saint in NY and a God in Jacksonville. We can wring our hands all we want but none of us know shit until we see the results in 2-3 years. Belichick was an utter bomb in Cleveland, Pete Carroll was a disaster with the Jets, Doug Pederson looked like a clueless dolt last year, Mike Zimmer was an unheralded DC in Cincinnati who inspired no one when he was hired. Give people a chance before you decide they aren't up to the task, this is a difficult profession in an unforgiving crucible and it tends to mold and change people as they learn.
May have just made an honest mistake, do you have to rip him? There is nothing that can replace experience, there are huge successful companies that value experience over education even. Shurmer has been through the mill as a coach, we will find out if he is ready to be a good, bad, or great head coach.

Now that YOU are getting his back, absolutely. Perhaps now even moreso.

I'll cop to this, I HATED it, and I was dead wrong
I wanted him since the first time he spurned the Giants. Built winners in Boston College and Jacksonville. TC's Jax team creamed the Giants with Mark Brunell every time they played. Why were peopple against the hiring?
??? He wasnt an OC in GB. Could be you are full of shit and trying to provoke?
I gues they should've hired someone that everyone said was terrible? Dumb comment
No you don’t you assclown troll. He was never an OC in Green Bay!
Well said.
