Worked with a controller (accountant) for a fortune 200 company.
If not the most calm and mild mannered men I’ve ever met, he’s close.
Maybe second to my grandfather.
I mentioned Esiason once to him and he responded with this -
“Yeah Dan, every time I see that guy on tv I start cussing under my breath and my my wife asks me what’s wrong” - he says to her “Nothing”
When he was in college here in Cincinnati he delivered beer while in school. One day he delivered to Boomers house. Oh and keep in mind he is a fragile guy. A very thin man couldn’t imagine when he was just a young man. He delivered multiple kegs to Boomers basement - he had a hand to truck and Boomer said “No way kid - carry them in! You’ll dirty the carpet”
So he carried multiple kegs in, down flights of stairs.
Then, Boomer says, “Hey kid, god job! Buy yourself something nice.”
And proceeds to hand him $2!
This story just came to mind because I was searching clips on the internet about the Giants hiring news and found one of Boomer’s clips.
He always seemed like an arrogant classless individual.
This story just wrapped it up for me.
It’s amazing what small actions we all make in life ripple through time to come me back to us.
Why bring the hand truck inside? That's definitely rude and bad for the carpet. Sucks, but sometimes not every job you get will go well.
Could boomer have given more then $2? Sure maybe, but $2 is better then nothing. Especially an hourly wage delivery job that doesn't rely on tips, pretty sure beer delivery men get benefits and stock options
Yeah. Fancy Man Cumia broke his arm trying to punch Bully Boomer. Then he probably went home to cry about it with his puppets while dad threw spaghetti at the wall
I think it was the way he built his expectations up and then belittled him
A sadist enjoyment of making him feel small
Not so much a bout the transaction
This is a guy who used to tell a couple stories every year - I doubt he made it up.
I know that suspicion abounds this of year.

Went to high school with him and said he was somewhat of a big asshole all through school. Use to bully him all the time

LOL..What a shame that show went away
So the players are out there warming up and having a good time joking with one another when Boomer comes out in his suit and grabs a football and makes the "go deep" signal to a few guys.
All of them just started walking the opposite direction disinterested. One guy even gave Boomer the dismissive hand wave.
Boomer just stood there with the ball in his hand without a player 30 yards within him. Finally after about 5 minutes, he walks back to the sideline.
FMIC
Thanks for the story - news to me
Validates my friend’s story to a degree

I was so depressed when the band broke up one day in July 2014 leaving behind warring factions in its wake
I think he meant his friend went to college in Cincinnati and delivered to Boomer's house when Boomer played for the Bengals

I still listen to Bennington but I can't stomach the Jim and Sam show
Absolutely true! He is a huge douche and he mentions that he "actually played the game" every day on the air. Like we don't know that he played in the NFL, is there any chance that he's on the air if he didn't, I don't think so...
Further proof that Denny is a 15 year old kid. Beer delivery men get stock options?
One of the survey questions was: Name something a bully might do to one of their victims
Then Boomer begins to think out loud,"Hmm, I was the bully! What did I used to do to kids?"
he tipped my 50 cents.
It really doesnt bother me.

Anyone remember Boomer's last MNF broadcast? He was arguing with Al Michaels over the use of time outs late in the game. Boomer was dead wrong, Michaels was right and Boomer was kicked off the show soon after.
My personal take just from watching and listening to him is that he has a real chip on his shoulder. He always seems on edge and with something to prove, especially when Simms is around.
