I believe mine would translate well.
1. Magic Johnson, 6-9
2. Michael Jordan, 6-6
3. Larry Bird, 6-9
4. Tim Duncan, 6-11
5. Hakeem Olajuwon, 7-0
Who do you think you're going to get to beat me? (Yeah, yeah, go ahead ... we can all pick Michael at the 2.)
That would be must-see TV.

Jordan
James
Durant
Olajuwon
Not taking anything away from Duncan but Bird at the 4 forces the D to all be out on the perimeter, allowing Hakeem plenty of space to post up. Once the D goes down to double, kick out for the 3 ball. Also, MJ and LeBron driving to hoop would be a nightmare

this was my instinct. Swap Duncan for LeBron. Bird would make up for his lack of man-to-man with his ability to play passing lanes and his unlimited range on offense.

Vern Mikkelsen
Eddy Curry

Great question...I was thinking of going with another big but picked Bird for more shooting. The passing with this 5 would be insane. Was also tempted to choose Pippen or Durant ( but I just can't stand the guy).

This is going to sound nuts because of how great of a career he head, but I view Shaq as somewhat underachieving for his total career. I'm not sure we will ever seen that combination of sheer force/size and athleticism. He could have averaged 40 and 20 a game.

Almost wanted to say Hakeem over Shaq but with all that pure skill his physical dominance is the balance.

Olajuwon was great but not over Kareem.

Hah! And then that would be countered by
Derrick Phelps
Donald Williams
Brian Reese
George Lynch
Eric Montross
I was still a Tar Heel fan in those days. Loved that team.
MJ
Lebron
Bird
Garnett - playing today, I think he'd add 3 point range and he can guard 4 positions!

I would be just as fine moving Lebron to SF and Duncan to PF

Especially if it was a young Chamberlain who had mobility.
I'd prefer a team that doesn't have 5 all timers but has an abundance of shooters, length and skillful players, something like:
Magic
MJ
Lebron
Dirk backed up by Pippen
Anthony Davis
While Davis is not on par with the all time greats, his presence to help beat GSW is greater.

Haha. I’d have to go with Chris Copesanity Copeland over LeBron.

Chamberlain (Offensive Center, move to PF on defense)
Lebron (PF)
MJ (Guard)
Jerry West (Guard..and he would have feasted on 3 point shots if they were legal when he played)
There's no current center playing today that could match up with Wilt at center, he would score at will. The NBA had to change their rules, making the foul lane wider to try and slow him down.
Russell was not only the best defensive player of all time (he intimidated whole TEAMS!), but he was incredible with blocking shots and getting the pass out for fast breaks. Imagine him launching the ball to West/MJ/Lebron on the break!
