Piggybacking off the other thread and asking to build a current 5 to beat the 2018 Warriors. Only current players and only for a 7 game series. It's crazy that it's not that easy to build. Here's mine.
If they get Hayward back, with Hayward and Smart off the bench I think they have at least a small chance with their normal roster without having to build a fantasy team.

I hope GH does not try and play this season.... re-injure it and its Grant Hill part II

Agree, if he's medically cleared he'd help, but I doubt they push him. Especially with how Brown and Tatum are developing.
You need size, length, and shooting to beat them.... Â

2. Can your bench be good enough to compete against their bench (Livingston, Iguodala, West, Caspi, Young)
The Warriors bench is incredible as well.
This offseason the Sixers will be in a position with their salary cap to make a big move. They can afford to sign 2 max contracts from free agency/opt outs, so maybe:
PG Markelle Fultz
SG Ben Simmons
SF Carmelo Anthony
PF Lebron James
C Joel Embiid
Sixers could also pursue Chris Paul instead of Carmelo -
whoever Lebron wants to play with. Warriors probably still beat either team but it's the closest realistic possibility.
Tatum
Brown
Irving
Lebron
Anthony Davis
Paul George
John Wall

I think the Rockets/Wolves are 1 top 20 player away from at least making it interesting (not necessarily the same player).
Butler/Wiggins/Towns
No clue how they'd get him, but throw Anthony Davis into that mix and they'd be a legit threat. Or CP3 at the point.
Tatum
Brown
Irving
Nice!
Fatman in Charlotte
Eric from BBI
Stan in LA
SLADE
and a case of beer

LOL. I like the inclusion of slade. So he can feed the warriors false information about their strategy through the media.

LeBron
Devin Booker
Westbrook
Lebron - PG
Jimmy Butler - SG
Giannis - SF
Anthony Davis - PF
Embiid - C
Would try to bully the warriors but might get out shot.

F - Paul George
F - Lebron
F - Anthony Davis
C - Embiid
Tatum
Brown
Irving
Haha. No chance in a series this year but with a healthy Hayward next season and a potential top 2-5 pick, you never know.
Bird
Magic
Barkley
Malone

The Warriors bench is incredible as well.
LeBron James
Anthony Davis
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Nikola Jokic
Ben Simmons
To a Warriors fan, that's how bizarre it really is that the Warriors have become this good.
F - Paul George

Think CP3 would be too old. Still the best pure PG, but I’d go Lillard or Harden over CP3, you need better shooting.
LeBron James
Anthony Davis
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Nikola Jokic
Ben Simmons
Not 1 above average 3 point shooter though. The Warriors would just pack the paint.
It really is amazing that it takes work to think of a 5 that could beat them. I'm going to revise mine.
Lebron
PG13
Butler
Davis
Cousins
However that team is light on shooting too. But they would smother them defensively and destroy them on the boards.
In an offseason where the Cavs traded Kyrie Irving when Jimmy Butler and Paul George were available and didn't come away with either of them...

Small chance to do what, win a game?
Certainly not a 7 game series
Paul George
Kawhi
LeBron
Anthony Davis
I thin I would also add Paul George because of his size, 3-point ability, and defense.
After that, you could put in another ball handler like Harden or Paul, or Jimmy Butler.
But would it be crazy to put in a pure 3-and-D guy like Danny Green who spaces the floor, doesn't need the ball, and plays strong defense?

A more fitting analogy would be the Jets. The Giants have actually won championships in this century.

But I'm assuming no one here is a fan of the Jets.
