...no doubt the talent on this team is with the D-line, but we've got a huge problem with this unit (which we don't have to worry about with the O-Line):
A ton of money tied up in two defensive ends who are under-performing their fat juicy contracts.
What to do in the Draft?
Maybe the answer is: Bradley Chubb!
His motor is always on (the opposite of JPP) and he's young and healthy while O.V. is aging and breaking down right before our very eyes. And he will come with a manageable 4- or 5-year cost-contained contract, unlike our current DE starters.
In other words, maybe a year from now Bradley Chubb provides the Giants with the flexibility needed to deal with either JPP or OV if they continue on their current downward trajectory.
My mantra is we must go QB at #2. But if we don't, I think Bradley Chubb would look real good in Blue... for several reasons.
Adding depth on the defensive line is a important part of this offseason. Rotating effective lineman will help the pass rush.
I really believe they will be more effective late in games and the season if they get a quality rotation going again (See the Eagles approach).
Best DE in a class of DE's that doesn't appear to have an obviously special player at the top, IMO.

If he is a top monster DE.....then I totally agree

Yea that’s the thing with Chubb. He has great film but I think he is more Derek Barnett than he is Myles Garrett. I don’t know if he will test off the charts but he is going to be a really good player regardless, just not sure he is worth passing up a franchise QB or Barkley.

Chubb doesn't display enough bend to be a premier sack artist...more a solid 2 way player like mentioned in Barnett. Definitely wouldn't consider Chubb #2 overall worthy.
I cant justify paying top-5 overall RB money to a rookie right away when the $$ will be stretched thin going forward with Collins and OBJ's contracts.
Would be nice to have someone to push JPP or OV next year.
