I'm all for having Eli back as think he can still play.
He's not a top tier QB anymore and a $22 million is just too much. If he takes a cut, he can help them get players in Free Agency.
Neither Peyton nor Eli have ever touched their contract. Â
but the way I look at it....he hasn't played like a $20 million QB in years. Obviously not all his fault as they have wasted some years by not giving him an adequate oline. But he could do his part and take a cut to help the team...if he wants to be there. He shouldn't be untouchable with regard to that.

mickey mouse offense and with the absolute garbage reese has surrounded him with (outside of beckham and shep) how can anyone reasonably conclude that eli isn't a "top tier" QB anymore? there's been a talent hole on the OL since about 2012 and they haven't had a viable running back since bradshaw. eli put up 35 TDs just 2 seasons ago. he can't do it all himself.

Mannings don't take pay cuts.
What QBs do take paycuts?
If management committed to Eli, and he was willing to Â
restructured has contact to help obtain/retain certain players?
Tom Brady is making $22 million dollars this year. He also has the luxury of knowing his team is consistently 1-2 players away from making it back to the Super bowl every year. It makes sense for him not to ask for $25+ mill, between his endorsements, playoff bonuses, and Gisellle's money.
If Gettlemen doesnt put a solid team around Eli soon, these last 2 years might be the last payouts Eli ever sees. I dont blame him for not wanting to take a cut (they will not restructure as he only has 1 more year left after this year on his deal).
Furthermore, the likes of Bortles, Tyrod Taylor, and Tannehill are all making 18-20 million. That is simply the going rate for a starting QB, and Eli is working his way toward the bottom of that rate.

Also Brady has an ownership to a training/rehab facility that operates out of Foxboro. I don't know how much Kraft is charging Brady to use that space but I can guarantee you nobody else in the world can get those same lease terms. So yea Brady is doing alright and profiting from the team in other ways too

Tom Brady, does that 22 million include his take from his TB12 company?

Any idea?
Yes. Did I miss something?

I do wish he'd be willing to accept a little less to help the team be better through other signings.

we all should take pay cuts so our companies do better.

No, they have short term financial goals where if not met means cutting overhead
I'd gladly take a huge cut from Eli's salary and go to 15 mil.
Where do I sign??
And of course, I'd be available for endorsements, though I'd have to work on a goofy grin ;)
