MAYFIELD originally signed with Texas Tech and was beaten out by Davis Webb in 2013. Doing research on Mayfield...so far my favorite QB in this years draft...could it be the GMEN already have their QB of the future already on their roster DAVIS????

I think the exact opposite. If hes truly the QB whispered that's being advertised isn't it more likely we roll w Eli and possibly continue to develop Webb ...
Increasing our trade down probability
I'm not advocating that - just think it becomes more of a reality

What QB whispering is he going to do with a 37 year old with declining skills?
Webb was injured and left before they could really fight for the job.
Also, what if all 3 of them in actuality aren't any good?

Vikings aren't good at running the ball, but run it the most in the league. I think that is a good argument to draft a RB or OL.
He's good with QBs so that is a good argument to draft a QB.
I think it's 50/50.
My inside sources say the Giants draft a punter #2 overall. We'll see.

Belichick would never take a punter #2 overall. I'll ask Slade but I heard from Gettleman's wife's cat that the Giants were going to take a QB with the 2nd overall pick unless they don't.

Please don't let facts get in the way of narrative.

Gotta be Rosen, gotta be Darnold, gotta be gotta be.
Maybe. Or maybe, trade down pick up Mayfield if he's still there, or look at some of the other QB's no one talks much about like Mason Rudolph who stands a chance of being a very good NFL QB after a trade down and turn some of those picks into OL.
Don't want to see a RB at #2, the Giants already have 1 1/2 good RB's, want to see a closer. And I've got somebody in mind who will either go late, or possibly even be a UDFA.
Look at who won the last 10 Super Bowls. Anyone see a pattern? In those 10 games, only ONE QB was a top 5 pick for their team- Eli Manning. Big Ben was a 7th pick. Peyton was a top pick- but with the Colts and won with the Broncos after being released by the Colts- and was bailed out by the great Denver D.
In short, for all the whining and moaning about how this MUST be a QB- forget it. Forcing the pick with a QB is how teams end up being 8-8 forever. Pick the top impact player, regardless of position.

Look at the last 50 Super Bowls. How many of them were won by 37 yr old QBs or clipboard holders?
Giants need a franchise QB. There will be at least one of them (Rosen or Darnold) there for the taking when they're on the clock.
And quite frankly, I'm tired about all the mind-numbing whining from people who think taking a talented QB when you desperately need one as "forcing" a pick.

No taking a talented RB in a deep RB draft class over a QB is how you go 6-10 to 7-9 every year. They will have to trade a fortune like the Rams did to move up to get their next QB. If they miss on a QB they will likely be 4-12 again soon and in position to correct the mistake. What's the difference between 4-12 and 6-10? Draft position.

I don't think anyone here has said to force the pick, that it has to be a QB.
The real argument here seems to be split opinion on the available QBs. If you buy them, then obviously it should be a QB. Because what moron would pass on a potential franchise QB?
And he reneged on a commitment to Colorado? Give me a fucking break.
