Nice win last night led by Carroll’s 26 pts. and D’Angelo’s return (finally!) Down 16 in 3rd qtr., they hold MIA to 42 pts. in 2nd half. A big step for this team would be to dominate at home; only 10-15 so far. 16 games left at Barclays. If they could go, say, 10-6 at home the rest of the way, get to 30+ wins, and keep everyone healthy, that would be a nice way to finish the season. Then, better things next year.
Who do you think the starting 5 will be next year?

Assuming the roster remains the same. Crazy to think they may have issues finding enough PT for all these guys. What a difference a year makes!

I'd would love it if it were DRussell, Caris, Carroll, Allen and Okafor with Dinwiddie and Crabbe off the bench. If they can make Okafor into a player on both ends of the floor, it would be a HUGE step.

Indeed, a better team this year than last. One sign: last year, they were getting out rebounded in virtually every game. That's not the case now.

Russell, Caris, Allen, RHJ, Carroll. Bring in Dinwiddie, Crabbe, Okafor.
Nets should be shopping

Carroll, Harris and dinwiddie.
If a team is desperate then move them- if not no biggie

Dlo, levert, caroll rhj, allen starting next year.

Crabbe yet to show proper development to be a starter- okafor should play scoring big off the bench role- targets should be a young Ryan Anderson type minus the contract... not sure that exists
Carroll and Harris yes, Dinwiddie no unless it's a crazy overpay

Dinwiddie's performance as a starter has been about as good as you can get from a lotto pick and he's still just 24, making the minimum for another year. He plays defense and isn't afraid of taking the big shot. Keep starting him and hope he continues developing on the George Hill track he's on. Levert has excelled in the backup PG role, keep him there and let Crabbe come off the bench once Russell is ready to start.

Going into the offseason/next year the backcourt is in really good shape and RHJ/Allen are both keepers. Just need to keep building up the front court. Okafor may be part of the answer but they need to upgrade Acy/Zeller.
Can Allen and Okafor

be on the court together for extended periods? I like what RHJ provides at the 4, but he gives away a lot of height most of the time.

Probably not until at least 1 of them develops an outside shot.
I may be in the minor

But, I dont think Harris would bring back enough to make up for what he brings. He can get hot and put 15-20 points on any given night, plays tough defense, and is a great glue/grit guy.

Love having him on the team and coming off the bench to contribute. He is also the teams best 3 point shooter (that gets regular time; Stauskas probably best overall). I dont think you can get back enough value to make up for what you would lose by trading him.
Dinwiddies's value
kelsto811 : 1/20/2018 12:50 pm : link
Is likely at an all time high. It can't hurt to see what he'll bring back

I absolutely agree. Both Harris and Dinwiddie have shown they have a future in the league. You probably won't get back as much for Harris and you can most likely get him signed long term for a more reasonable contract. Dinwiddie has another cost controlled year but if he continues to develop his cost will skyrocket and he should be able to get more in a trade.
Keeping Dinwiddie and Harris

Over Drummond nonetheless

What a find this guys been
Was fitting since

Drummond took 4 steps to go ahead the possession earlier
I think Dinwiddie is the PG now and in the future

I mean, at this point that's not even a stretch to say because he's been that good. He's always been good at not turning it over and on D with his length and athleticism. Now he's not only scoring, he's scoring when it matters. Attacking the rim, mid-range, deep. Unless someone way overpays via trade I think he's here to stay. I expect they'll do a marginally team-friendly extension as the Spurs do with a lot of their under the radar guys.
