Wow, seems like a 100 years ago the Giants drafted that dud!
Ron Dayne may not have met expectations of Giants fans
SomeFan : 1/20/2018 8:18 pm : link

BC usually has good OLs, so maybe that factored in. He can stat pad like Dad did at Wisconsin.
Wow

Ron Dayne was never a fit for us, of the NFL. He had a serviceable career if he was not touted being a Heisman winner.

Tiki's speed saved him as Ron needed holes our OL could not produce. It's not the first time the HTW could not make the leap to the NFL game.

More shocked we reached and drafted him to begin with. His lack of production due to being drafted was not that much of a shocker.

His first year wasn't that bad. He wasn't helped by being overshadowed by a suddenly awesome Tiki Barber. But defiantly he wasn't as great as he was in college. I used to refer to him as "Dayne for one" or "Dayne for a couple" because his specialty was taking a handoff and plodding straight into the first person in front of him
i wanted Shaun Alexander

over Dayne.
Offensive linemen from Wisconsin is good, RBs not so much.

to be a fly on the wall in the draft room when they discussed why they should take Dayne over Alexander.

Big back that never ran like a big back, not good at making people miss, not blazing fast, not effective as a receiver, never ran angry - what else is there? Always seemed like decent guy and teammate - but how do you get that choice like that so wrong?
