NFT: Nice review of Yanks 40 man roster

Interesting read and summary.

If the pitching comes through, should be an amazing team.

NJ COM review - ( New Window )
As a Braves fan i am excited about their future

However I look at the Yankees MLB roster and their farm system and I am just in awe of how much talent they have accumulated. They have the pieces to contend for a long time. If they add a TOR young arm they will be perennial contenders.
This sound familiar?

You need good scouts, a good metrics system, a GM that can evaluate scouting reports and pick the players that best fit the ownership plan as to the kind of team they want. Then the group of coaches all along the way to get the best out of the player.
The last 4+ years the Yanks have hit on so many picks, top to bottom of the selection group.
Homegrown team and depth, minimizing the need to sign other teams' FAs.
The core may be deeper

Than the previous core four.

They also love playing with each other and are looking forward to doing it "together."
Good job.

Yanks formula to stay under the

soft cap while affording pricey stars is to mix in a healthy dose of youth with out of this world talent.

In the near future, Judge & company are going to command serious cash in the neighborhood of 10 million when they hit the first year of arbitration eligibility (thanks to the landmark Kris Bryant deal). Hanging over Yanks head is the added cost of a potential Stanton opt out

Ells Gardner CC & Robertson will be gone freeing up plenty of money to absorb these salaries plus payroll flexibility to land a big name player . But the Yanks need to have a plethora of modest price kids on the payroll in order to sign the big FA's.

That s why I hope this second wave of kids continues the run andallows us for an August big name trade if needed
