NFT: beyond meat

I know someone recently started a thread about this stuff. I finally tried one of the burgers. I followed the directions for 3 minutes per side using a skillet. Wow! It doesn't taste *exactly* like the real thing, but it is really close (80% to 90% there). Very impressive!

was very surprised and impressed with the flavor and texture. I had tried several of the Morningstar "burger" products but the Beast Burger is far superior IMO

However I'll stick to a southwest black bean burger when I feel like going vegan.

Glad they have no soy though , I'll give it a try one day

I know some people object for other reasons, but meat substitutes aren't necessarily healthier and that includes many tofu/soy products.

Tofu is not the health food some make it out to be. Soy gets its healthy rep from fermented soy used in Asia, which tofu is not. Can't go into detail now but anyone interested should google why not to eat tofu.

But if you want to avoid meat, black beans >>>> tofu

If you want something that’s not meat and tastes ok, well is at least edible, subways chicken sandwich is bomb.
