Trophy. I mean I get he takes one day at a time, but you have to celebrate the small victories.
He did after the last 1st down run. He clapped, hugged some guys and smiled. I don't blame him for not holding that trophy. They do the same in Hockey. It's the ultimate trophy they want to hold.
In the NHL, nobody lays a finger on the trophy out of superstition. Â
Not quite the same here, Belichick just does not care.
I agree it's more about superstition in the NHL and I don't think BB cares about that but the main point is the same. None of them including BB really care or want that trophy. It's the next one that's the goal. In that sense it's similar.

Best coach in the history of the NFL.
Tell me again why the Maras took a pass on this guy.
BB then tells everybody to drop back on second down and defend the play action pass. Bortles avenues get clogged up.
Third down and long, BB plays straight up and tells CBs to stay close and wait for the sideline passes.
All fairly logical and the Jags don’t move the ball as effectively.
Jags needed to continue to mix it up like they did in first half especially with a few screens to Grant and rollouts and draws by Bortles.
But alas we get to see the Pats yet again in the SB...

It wasn't Wellington.
George Young had complete control of the team.
Heck, he even released Phil Simms when Mara pleaded him not to.
That's not accurate. Young would have promoted RH even if Parcells had stepped down immediately after the season.
