I get being sick of them winning, but beyond that - they are in a different conference, have the beloved BB as their HC and quite frankly, it easy to respect their greatness.

I have always had a huge respect for Belichick and I have really only rooted against them in the SB when they were playing the Giants. Fuck Philadelphia and all their fans. They don't deserve a SB trophy.

Anyhow I'd understand if someone rooted for the Saints or Vikings against the Pats.. but the Eagles? no way..

No chance I could ever bring myself to root for the Eagles. I'd root for North Korea if they were playing the Eagles. A second reason is that it keeps the Giants as the only team to have beaten Brady, Belichick and those immortal Pats teams - Twice! And that really bothers Pats fans.

NFL opener and the Eagles are raising the Super Bowl Champions banner. The league puts them against the Giants (because NBC wants to save their good matchups for later), and anyone going to that game or watching on TV is going to be forced to witness all of that nonsense.

I prefer for us not to be a part of that in any way.

....and I hope the Patriots get caught blatantly cheating and it changes absolutely nothing about the game, after a big investigation takes us well into the 2018 season......


and when I say blatantly, I mean "no doubt about it", the Patriots cheated to win the Superbowl against the Eagles....

Speaking for myself, I don’t hate them...I’m a football fan, and admire the way they’ve built and sustained a Super Bowl contender every year.

The hate is caused by their fans...I know several who are lifelong Pats fans, and still have a Grogan or Hannah jersey in their closets, and I consider them good loyal fans.

But they’ve picked up a ton of insufferable bandwagon fans, obviously. How many chicks love the Pats bc they think Brady is so hot?

It’s the same with the Yankees of the late 90s...I can understand why Mets and Red Sox fans hate the Yankees, but the Yankees picked up a million bandwagon fans during their run. Plenty of chicks in Jeter jerseys who had no idea who Bobby Meacham or Andre Robertson or Andy Stankiewicz were.

Point being, aggravating bandwagon fans cause a lot of the hate.

Generally, I’ll root against the Pats bc I’ll usually root for an underdog like the Jags yesterday.

But the notion of rooting for the Eagles over the Pats in the Super Bowl is unconscionable. I question whether anyone doing so is a real Giants fan.

the only positive that I can find from the Eagles winning is that the NFC East becomes the first division where every team has at least one Lombardi. But I am willing to sacrifice that to keep things status quo. No way I want the Eagles to win. I will be rooting as hard for the Patriots as I do for the Giants in any game.
