When they were at the Vet. It was horrible. It was an old stadium with either not enough bathrooms, or problems with the plumbing, so they had a port-o-potty on the concourse that I used after the game. When I went in, some jerky philly fan started rocking the port-o-potty. And this was a game they won.
I will say that it seems like the jerkiness factor is directly proportional to how long a team has not won the big game - more or less true in any sport.
I would never in a million years wear a Giants jersey there. At this point, I wouldn't go there, period.
With the concession prices getting out of control, these tailgaters seem to be going harder in the parking lot.
And I know this stuff probably always went on, and now that we can record everything we just see it more. But damn, NFL games seem like such shit shows
Vs. Eagles at the Measowlands. The one where McNabb converted a 3rd and forever and Eli threw a pick to Asante.
Took one of my best friends, who is an Eagles fan. She was accosted in the concourse while going to the bathroom and challenged to a fight by three grown men. Giants fans.
Dickheads who take this shit way too seriously aren't limited to any one fan base.
My wife, who hates the Patriots, as do I and any other good Giants' fan, when asked who she is rooting for in the Super Bowl, said, "the Eagles, I can't stand the Patriots."
Does anyone know a good divorce attorney in Florida?
I understand how she feels. The hate for NE> the hate for Dumpster City.

If you divorce her you'll have to split everything. Sounds to me you might have grounds to question her mental stability. With that attitude, she's clearly a danger to herself, and others. ;-)
I give the Green Bay fans credit. Been to the last two Giants playoff games up there. The 2011 upset and then last year.
Many of the people were great. A few drunk here and there. But nothing really in the stands that I remember. Hell, I wore a cheesehead that I painted in Giants colors just for the occasion.
I've never gone to a game in Philly (nor would i ever) Â
But my closest experience was seeing Pearl jam play at the Spectrum before it closed, which also happened to be while the Yankees and Phillies were playing in the World Series in '09. I can't remember what game of the world series it was or even who won (i don't think it would have mattered). But these guys were walking through the parking lot throwing shit at any car with a New York license plate and trying to fight anyone near those cars. At a Pearl Jam concert.
Classy
I went to a Rangers-Flyers game at the Spectrum in 1996 Â

Whatever works so I never have to live with a person who would root for the Eagles, even for one day. There's a clear right and wrong here, and she has me questioning everything. /s for those that can't detect it.
that was PG rated abuse. People need to grow a set.
That was BEFORE the game. Imagine the abuse that was endured by Vikings fans after the Eagles fans were during and after the game when they had much more to drink.

RE: I saw the Giants play at Philly 5 times between Â
in terms of the profanities/insults being yelled. What do you expect? It's an NFL game, you have a bunch of kids in their 20's drinking at a tailgate for 6+ hours before the game that kicked off at 6pm.
As long as there isn't any personal attacks or racist remarks, I think it is fine. No physical attacks as well obviously.
The only issue I have is the throwing of things- especially open beers. Nobody should have beer dumped on them or thrown at them. Not only is it dangerous, but it also makes for an unpleasant experience. Add to that the fact it is the middle of January.
I don't see the problem

That wasn't a random person calling them out, it was a few dozen dumbasses continually giving them shit.
Go to Carolina, GB, Minny - hell most NFL stadiums and you don't see behavior like that. Not some gauntlet of people cursing, giving the finger and filming themselves giving somebody shit. I've worn giants gear to every opposing stadium they've played. The last time I did it in Philly, I was 7. They spit at me and harassed my Dad. Never wore colors there again. I've been to 16 other stadiums and have never had an issue. People have said things, but no physical confrontations or incidents.

If you don't see a problem with that then you might be part of the problem.
Sports are entertainment and to be enjoyed. Even with your fellow rival fans. To treat people rooting for other laundry like that is despicable. Friendly ribbing is one thing. You should treat other human beings with civility and decorum if not respect. Flipping them off and shouting profanities at strangers is the behavior of morons to put it lightly. To put it more accurately, it is uncivil, it is rude, obnoxious, caustic, asinine...the behavior of fools and jackasses.

Fine? We obviously have a much different opinion of what fine or acceptable behavior is. You really think some drunk getting in someone's face screaming FU over and over and over again is fine?
Just because they're drunk and didn't do worse doesn't mean what they were doing is fine,IMO.

Yea, it is fine for what I expect out of Philly fans. If you want to wear your teams jersey there, then you have to be prepared for what is going to happen. You will be called names and booed, but you signed up for it when you walked in there in a Vikings jersey. All it takes is a simple google search to understand this will happen to you.
Then again, I have been to many football games in Morgantown, WV which is very similar to this environment when you are dealing with a bunch of drunk college students. I wouldn't expect this out of the Giants fanbase, but the Eagles yes.
RE: RE: I saw the Giants play at Philly 5 times between Â
2000-2004 and experienced the exact same thing. I'll never go back.
Was the 5th time what really got you or something?
Haha - funny!
No, the 2nd time was the worst (The Ron Dixon game). The issue was my father-in-law had season tickets for the Eagles and asked me to go every year. It was a big deal for him and hard for me to say no. He understood when I finally told him I oculdn't do it anymore.
lets cut them a break. Afterall, they have been sentenced to a lifetime of misery living in Philadelphia and the biggest thing that will ever happen in their life is the eagles winning the NFC Championship game.

Ah this old argument. The equivalent of asking a rape victim what she was wearing.
I was at the Giants-Falcons playoff game a few years ago Â
where the Falcons beat the snot out of us. Woman sitting in front of me, dressed in head-to-toe Falcons gear, turned around and patted my leg sympathetically. I believe she was sincerely trying to be kind, but it was far worse than getting the Philly Fan treatment. I wanted to crawl under my seat.
Overall, took some light abuse from the Falcons fans, but there was no real venom in it; folks down here seem to grok that we can root for our teams and talk a little smack but remain friendly...
for whatever reason, philly doesn't give 2 shits about the sixers. When the sixers or phillies suck the fans stop going to the games. The few that are there during those down years (the true fans) aren't aholes. Eagles fans though? nuts all the time

I like the cut of your jib.
I have attended Giants games at several stadiums, and never felt as unsafe as I did at the Linc, not wearing Giants gear, and minding my own business.
They are violent thugs there, and opening the lots at 7 am for a 630 pm kickoff? Seems a little much.

The Eagles are a disgrace. Their fans are even worse.
I hope the Eagles build a 50 pt lead only to see Brady and the Pats comeback in the 4th.

Funny, in an Eagles douchebag way.
This is accurate. The video on Twitter is there if you do the search. It was a huge sign that you had to use spray paint for the letters.

Went to a Knicks game last winter at Philly. Wore Knicks stuff. No issues at all.
Figured we got lucky.
