I haven't read anything about the 4 S& C coaching positions, (Including the nutrition guy.) all of whom are incumbent. Not that I'm necessarily dissatisfied with the job they did, but I'm a little surprised that the new HC or GM wouldn't have any changes in mind across all four positions.
Palmeri used to get abused on this site. He won the same award in 08. I’ve dealt with these people for over 20 years. They utilize the same training methods. They get the same certifications . They attend the same seminars . These are all available for public viewing on the Internet . There is no “edge” to be gained . What can be said is there might be slight advantage to a coach with better communications skills or one who is better organized. However these people are all super-organized . Every fart is evaluated.
In the end, what to do? Stay away from guys who have long , complicated medical histories . Stay young. Get them to assume ownership over their bodies instead of chasing for wonder potions & diets. Other than that admit that there is a large measure of luck involved as to his many go on the IR in a season.
But I read here that all the injuries we suffered under TC were definitely the fault of the S&C staff. Getting a new S&C staff showed that to be true in '16. '17, not so much.
Thanks!
