New York Giants 2018 Free Agency Scorecard - ( New Window )
I would assume
Chip : 2/7/2018 9:22 am : link
Brett Jones is the only tender. OTC says 22 mil under the cap. I do believe OTC has overstated Bobby Hart contract by 1.2 mil. Restructure JPP guaranteed money can free up space and the next contract to restructure would be Jenkins. Restructure or cut Marshall, Harris.

yeah Jenkins is fine. More cuts than those two/
Jerry CUT
Marshall CUT
Harris CUT
DRC a Reluctant CUT
Hart CUT
Ray Ray Armstrong CUT

Resign Fluker if Solder resigns with NE
Resign Cockrell especially if we cut DRC.
plus minor moves
Considering cost of ERFA tender
Mike in NY : 2/7/2018 9:35 am : link
I could see Thomas, Grant, and Halapio all being tendered. O'Malley really does not fit with all of the TE's we have on the roster currently and being able to get a cheap option as a UDFA if we wanted
Lots of JAG’s on that list

Jenkins deal is pretty good for us
BigBlueDownTheShore : 2/7/2018 9:42 am : link
as it was front loaded.
Very few players
old man : 2/7/2018 10:25 am : link
Worth re-signing: Fluker,Cockrell, Greco?
To the rest: Minimum, or GTHO(for those that are just bodies
that aren't worth a true re-signing like above).
Re-signing Cockrell is a must...
Capt. Don : 2/7/2018 10:42 am : link
He was lights out at the end of the year.

I also like Fluker more than most around here. When he was inserted into the lineup the running game improved markedly. He has his warts but he changed our running game.
Cockrell
Doomster : 2/7/2018 11:05 am : link
played ok, but he was by no means lights out....

Re-signing him depends on what he will take....if asking too much, then see ya....

DRC is the big question mark.....he is another year older and an 8.5M cap hit......when healthy, he is still a good player....but being another year older, the question remains, do you cut him a year too early, or a year too late?

His cap hit was only 8mil in 2016, but 15mil in 2017. From here on out, it is either 12 or 13 mil in the final 3 years. But, there is not much guaranteed/dead cap hit money left, so they can move on from him easily if they want to.
Bring back C Brett Jones$$, RT Justin Pugh$$$ & RG DJ Fluker$$
est1986 : 2/7/2018 12:10 pm : link
Bring back Cockrell$$

Cut Harris, Marshall, Jerry.... and DRC, but only if you have too

Bring in Norwell$$$$$ to play LG....

Draft Saquan Barkley at #2...:

And I will see you all in Atlanta... February 3rd, 2019
There are a couple of very good PK's available in FA
Jay on the Island : 2/7/2018 1:35 pm : link
Former Giant Chris Boswell is a FA and the Giants should remedy their mistake by bringing him back. Caleb Sturgis is another good young kicker who will be available due to the emergence of Elliott in Philly. Other options include Graham Gano, Cairo Santos, Sebastian Janikowski, Cody Parkey, Chandler Catanzaro, and Kai Forbath. If the Giants want a short term veteran then Vinatieri or Matt Bryant remain great kickers despite their age.
My God
SirYesSir : 2/7/2018 2:12 pm : link
there's only 3 guys on that list I'd honestly be really happy to see return, and none of them are stars/difference makers. (just guys I thought played hard and/or seem like good teammates)

So bring back Cockrell, Wynn, and Fluker.

I guess Pugh as well, but if he wants a lot of money, check please...

Why Wynn? Wynn is the definition of JAG. Over the past three seasons in 44 games played Wynn has a grand total of 1.5 sacks. Saying he offers nothing as a pass rusher is a huge understatement. The Giants need to add better players as depth and Wynn needs to move on. He works hard but he just isn't an NFL player.
He most certainly is an nfl player
SirYesSir : 2/7/2018 2:19 pm : link
calling him a JAG is fair. But every team needs backups, and he's done a solid job whenever called upon. He should not be your starter, but he's gives good effort and I would like to see him back.

plus he's a Richmond Spider

GREAT POINT!! I do think we need to make kicker a priority. while our overall suckitude shielded him from much deserved criticism, we need a solid kicker . I think you saw in the superbowl how much a reliable kicker means.

Boswell would be my top choice due to age and performance but despite his age it would be awesome to have Vinatieri for a year. He is the GOAT and he proved last season that he still has it.

I just don't see the value in bringing him back. The pass rush has been a major disappointment and bringing back a player that offers nothing as a pass rusher doesn't make any sense. The coaching staff seem to play him more than he deserves due to the fact that he is a hard worker rather than a contributor. It is better to give playing time to Okwara, Moss, etc who actually have pass rushing potential.

Coolest helmets in college football
My notable cuts ...
Manny in CA : 2/8/2018 12:56 am : link

Bromley, Behre, Apple, Richburg, Pugh
Stay Away From Pugh
TheVette : 2/8/2018 1:19 am : link
Always hurt, underproductive - only "seems" better because the rest of this line is shit.
I'd like to see Jones, Darkwa, Fluker, Kennard and Cockrell back.
Ira : 2/8/2018 4:03 am : link
I'd consider Pugh for the right contract.
Our FA’s
trueblueinpw : 2/8/2018 10:41 am : link
Holly smokes, our UFAs is like a list of guys about to leave the NFL for good. I wonder how many of our players from last season will be out of the league completely at the start of next season?

Yeah, Jones and I guess Fluker. I trust Gettleman and company to figure out if Pugh is worth signing, when healthy he can play and he’s versitle. Think Richburg completes his extraordinary fall from once being regarded as a top three NFL C. He’ll land somewhere, maybe even get a big contract, and maybe he can play but doesn’t seem to be a “hog mollie”. Not so sure about Cockrell because he’s okay but a UFA CB with some good tape is probably going to be priced out of our budget for that position. Maybe if he can be had for cheap but that doesn’t seem likely.

Anyway, is there anyone on that list we can’t afford to lose?

Quoting sack totals here misses the point. He's not Julius Peppers. He's a hard working run defender who sets the edge and contributes pressure against the pass, even if he rarely finishes. He's a solid nfl backup, hard worker - I'd bring him back
I like Pugh and he can play
mrvax : 2/8/2018 11:33 am : link
LT at a decent level if called upon to do so. Maybe the Giants can offer him a contract that took into account games actually played.

I'll take the warts, get Norwell, Draft 6'8' 345 Brown in the second round. If we ran more than we passed Flowers would look better. Flowers, Norwell, Brown and Fluker could wear people out. You have to let the big men eat. Maybe Bo Scarborough or Josh Adams in the 4th. Hammer people.
