#Clippers and #Cavs spent last night engaged in serious trade talks revolving DeAndre Jordan, per league source. Should a deal get done however, Clips are insisting it include the #Nets pick (which Dan Gilbert doesn't want to surrender). I'm told only the Cavs pick is on table.
The Knicks need to win no more than 2-4 games for the rest of the season to get into the top 5 of this draft. It is the only silver lining.
Again - the NYK would just cut IT in my scenario.

Lakers are using Larry Nance as a sweetener in deals involving Jordan Clarkson, league sources say. It's unclear which teams have interest, if any. Clarkson is signed through 2019-20 and teams are reluctant to take on pricey long-term contracts.
Payton has gotten better every single year and his 3 or shooting has improved as well..
If they take noah for Bismarck is do it
I think it all depends who the first comes from. Its from a team who will end up picking 25 or lower it could be worth it.
Payton wont command a ridiculous contract, hes 23 and potentially better than someone youd draft at 28 this year.
if we're smart (ha!) I think there will be an opportunity to get guys on good deals this summer - maybe something less than 4/50. Most teams will only have the MLE to throw around. Maybe you can get Payton to stay for 4/36? Because it's the Knicks you know the last year will be a player option. It's also possible a lot of these guys just take the qualifying offer and try their luck next year.

Unless the Lakers take Kanter I dont see any contracts the Knicks have that would make the trade doable that dont go past the Lakers 2019 timeline

Would need to be a three team deal where Clarkson, Nance go to NY, Lee to Cleveland, Shumpert to LA
This is the problem, the Knicks are too reactionary, never seem to have a plan.
Payton is ok, but not sure he is worth a first rounder.
Frank switching positions isnt a bad thing, and Frank already shoots more theees per game than Allen ever has and at a better clip. Tony Allen isnt a fair ceiling.
I read something somewhere that said some in the org think Frank may end up being more of a combo guard, maybe more like an Avery Bradley type?
I was thinking the same thing about Frank, seems awfully quick to give up on him as a 1. Of course, Mills and Perry did not really select him, which is why, firing Phil after the draft was such another poor move.
I dont have a problem with him moving to the 2 except that we just signed Hardaway for huge money. I dont love the idea of THJR being an undersized 3.
would a haircut be part of the deal (not sure I can tolerate watching that every night)?
That works. Id prefer Randle to Nance I think.

Well that's the point. It again suggests "welp we will have to figure it out later". Payton/Frank/THjr does not sound like a very successful trio 1-3.

Some think Frank might grow to 67 - 68. If thats the case hed be the 3.

is quietly having a breakout year... but I'm sorry if they are so hot for him it's not a good sign for the view of Frank. He's now a 2? I mean maybe that's his role but he was sold as a big 1. As a 2 the absolute dream is Tony Allen and that's the extreme high end outcome "best wing defender in the NBA over a near decade"/.

But they have a 2 already, a youngish one. So now he's a backup 1-2? Already?

it's not my plan, it's just what I read. But, yeah, I guess? He is gonna develop into whatever he is gonna be. If it's a combo guard, then that's what he is. It's not the worst thing in the world because it gives a smart coach lots of lineup flexibility.
That said, I'm curious to see if/where Evans & Jordan land.
Trade that 1st for Payton (3/$36mm) as a bridge to Ntilikina until he is ready & most importantly, the opportunity to dump Noah for a viable bak-up BIG in Biyumbo
Essentially, its Lee for Payton, same $$. Noah for Biyumbo, same $$$.
I'd take on Ibaka if it meant getting a first

I think Isiah was addition by subtraction.
It seems like a decent trade for both teams as trades should be, not like the trades the Knicks make that only help the other team.

I don't think it solves the Cavs major issues though
