NFT: NYDN just blocked me

to charge me for access. 13 weeks for $0.99...basically $4 per year. Pretty cheap, but I'm not paying to read a couple of sports articles per day.

Maybe because I use an ad blocker? Anybody else get blocked?

they are going with the Times/ Newsday model. Pay for access going forward. Going to suck when the Post eventually follows suit.

Guess you get a certain number of articles free a month (10?). And the 99 cents for 13 weeks is the trial offer. After the trial it is $1.99 per week.

If you see a headline that interests you, copy and google it.

Someone else will have the almost same story for free. The Journal news has been doing it for a while now. I have never paid and I never will.

Does that work around really work? As for copy+paste, sometimes it takes a little extra for a site to flash the pay now for access screen. Hit a ctrl-a, ctrl-c and paste the article into a word file.

the Times and the Post all day long and never come across the issues that I have with the Daily News. Their web page is horrible. I don't read now when it's free; I'm sure as hell not going to pay for it.

Never found the Daily News to be "must reading" for covering NY sports. Not a fan of Myers on Giants coverage or Lupica.
