This guy is horrible. He just is throwing stuff at the wall to see if it sticks. This is the best NJ.com could come up with? His article today suggest that the Giants could cut DRC, Jenkins and Apple. Who are the Giants going to get to replace them and at what cost? Seems like lazy and stupid reporting to me.
It's not reporting.

It's opinion writing. They have to write about something.

Chill out. He's much better than Kratch.
I don't

know Dodge. His opinion is to cut 3/4's of the D backfield with no opinion on how to replace them. The Giants only have 22 million in cap space and even with cutting them, the Giants have to pay to replace them. The O-line needs to be fixed and money has to go there, even if they get creative and get some good deals. I thought Kratch was good. You and I could write these articles. NJ.com used to be good with Giants beat writers, it just seems NJ.com is going downhill with their reporters.
I actually think he's not bad.....

I think he's shown some creativity and written some refreshingly different types of articles. In my opinion I think Kratch's articles were beginning to show too much his own personal biases rather than strict reporting of the news. Many of his articles were feeling more like op-eds.

I think you need to give the new guy a chance.
I'm not sure if this is the article from yesterday

But there was one linked to that identified possible cuts where the team could save cap space, which name all three of the CBs that you mentioned. I didn't see the author in anyway advocating that all three be cut, it was presented more as options the Giants have for finding additional cap space.

Right, that is the article. My point is the only have 22 million in cap space. Getting rid of those players would only save them them 13 million. No savings if they cut Apple. They going rate for a CB is 10 million. So, the giants would have to sign 3 new CB's so it could end up costing more. To me its just poor reporting.

He is basically saying that these six players are "in Danger of being cut". In the article, Dunleavy presents the cap implications of keeping/cutting each. No where in it, does he advocate one way or the other who should stay and who should go.

Areas where the team can save on the cap have been discussed

on BBI. From that list, my best guess:
1. Harris - gone
2. Marshall - gone
3. DRC - toss-up (I hope he stays)
4. John Jerry - toss-up (I hope he is cut loose)
5. Jackrabbit - Stays
6. Apple - DG has said he gets a clean start, but who knows if that means he stays or goes (I think he stays)

Was on WFAN during the Super Bowl and said how important CB is in Bettcher’s system. They play man. They would be smart to keep all three of their CBs
