ton of picks, possibly future picks. They have the worst roster in the NFL in my opinion and the next closest team may not be that close. Ride the Luck/Brissett train for now until you have a roster that is in much better shape. They aren't close to being one guy away. Look what happened to Luck. The same can happen to Brissett and a QB they draft at 3. Their OL is pathetic. They have no true threat other than Hilton. It is just a horrible position for a QB to try to succeed. I am not saying Indy needs to have the Dallas OL but it needs to improve. Also, if Luck cannot come back then they will be near the top of the draft again next year and if you have future picks then they can make the necessary moves to get their QB.
Too much invested in Luck. Have to let this play out for one more year. They should trade back to get ammo to trade up next year. Odds are they will be top 5-10. Could get up even closer to the top. This year, unless Luck is simply shot, they need to ride it out.
If the Colts were thinking QB, it would increase the value of the Giants pick should they be thinking of a trade down. I still think the Broncos or Jets might want to move down.

if they have doubts luck will return it doesn’t matter how much they have invested in him.
The fact that he's still not throwing, tells me everything I need to know. Clearly it didn't heal right and they are hoping(they have no idea at this point) that rehab will do the trick. If not, he'll potentially have to have another surgery. His future is absolutely uncertain.
He's not even throwing yet. They are hoping rest and rehab(building up the surrounding muscles) will work. If not, he will need surgery again most likely. If they knew he needed another surgery, he would have had it already.
I wonder if McDaniels change of heart had something to do with Luck. Perhaps he was given a concerning update on Lucks recovery that played a major part in him changing his mind. Luck is the only bright spot of that organization. Take him away and whichever HC they choose will be destined to fail. If they show serious interest in any of the top QB’s then that will speak volumes about Luck’s future.
If Luck is done.
Tank with Brissett for another season or 2
Build a roster and draft a QB next year or the season after.
Without Luck the Colts are a bottom 5 team even with Luck they are in the bottom 10.

IMO the writings on the wall in NE and he would rather take the shot on getting NE than rebuilding a horrible Colts team even with Luck they have very little talent.
First, I think people are over reacting with Luck. But secondly, NFL people are much higher on Brissett than fans are.
If I'm the Colts I see if I can make a deal and move back. They really don't have a lot of talent on that team and could use all the picks they can get.
He obviously had at least a setback, if not many setbacks. His surgically repaired shoulder has not healed properly and he's STILL not attempting to throw. There is no overreacting here, it's reality and you just don't know what you are seeing.
They will draft the premier pass rusher in this draft Â
If the Browns take Darnold at #1 overall and the Giants do what I'd hope in that scenario and take Barkley (assuming noe "King's Randsom" deal is forthcoming), they might take Rosen or be amenable to a trade.

but you should understand the situation. Anyone who says his career is over, is overreacting. Anyone who says that it's completely uncertain, is right. Anyone who says everyone is overreacting and he will be fine, has no idea what they are talking about. That's all I'm saying, you are clueless.
Luck is a complete question mark....if they have any doubts about him, they are not going to say anything....
With the possibility of the first two picks being QB's, and if they really are scared of Luck, it would not surprise me to see them trade up, if there is a guy they absolutely want....
They are stuck with Luck's 2018 contract......but after that, unless he has a miraculous recovery, he is gone....and Brissett is not the answer....Did McDaniels find out about Luck's condition, or as the story in Boston goes, did Brady go to Kraft and tell him he wanted McDaniels back, and KRAFT UPPED HIS OFFER, AND POSSIBLY HINTED HE IS THE HEIR APPARENT TO BB?
As bad as the Colts are, there is no guarantee they will get this high a pick next year, or if a quality QB will be available with their pick next year.....

If they have doubts, they should wait one more year. If they are certain he is done, different story.
Brees’ shoulder kept him out of Miami. In the other hand, Bert Jones’ ended a promising career prematurely.
They're gonna suck for another year, likely 2.
They need players. They likely stay with Brissett and let AL take his time healing, if he can.
If they can win with Brissett when they have players, they have their QB if AL doesn't heal. If AL is OK, they have a tradeable asset.
If their QB situation goes totally negative, they will be in a pick to draft one in 2020/2021 and 2 high position drafts behind them, plus some FA.
In time for the 'rivalry ...on', part 2.

That was my thinking on McDaniels. There's a chance Luck is hurt worse than we know, but the Colts have no choice but to play the waiting game, and by the time it would play out over a couple of years, McDaniels would be forced to start from scratch in a make or break year. Which would be fine if it were his first time as a head coach, but he can't walk into a no-win situation with his last chance as a head coach.
Stay the course. I am of the belief Luck will play next year and do so at a high level. Only thing I'm basing that on is that it's been a lot of time off and I think he will have gotten healthy to play. If you need to go with Brisset for another year, so be it, and then you re-evaluate again next year, when you are probably drafting near the top of the draft again. But they need a lot of help and if Luck does get back you need to put some players around him to give him help.
but Brissett was a serviceable fill-in this year who will continue to get better with experience... so its not like they need to panic yet and move on from Luck.
I think they want Barkley - Gore is reaching the end and Marlon Back is a third down specialist.
But agree Chubb would be a nice addition for them too.

Technically, to say he is not throwing is not correct. I live in Indy. What has been reported is that he is not throwing a football. They haven't been specific about what he is throwing. Throwing something smaller than a football (baseball, softball, tennis ball, etc...) is less taxing on his arm but still allows the doctors and PTs to gauge his range of motion and overall progress.
I don't think anyone outside of Luck and Colt ownership
know the real story of Luck's current health.
They have a lot of needs and QB isn't one of them if luck returns.
