Would be a great pickup for the Giants.
I think a hard working running back with good coaching can fix it

I was reading how Belichick is obsessed about fumbles and wont draft a player that has that problem. Tiki corrected it and he was bad. Over 4 seasons he fumbled 35 times. He wound up cutting it down to 9 over three seasons.

I like one of the backs in the below average range - Ryan Nall as a late round pick. I would not rule him out.

Rashaad Penny is moving up boards...

...his Senior Bowl week separated himself from a lot of guys in a strong RB class. I'd bet he's solidly going in Round 2 now. Too bad though because I wanted to target him in Round 3.

Kamara was a high second rounder going into last year's draft. So don't be surprised if some of these guys drop to our third.
Kamara had a nice rookie season but imo went off the board...

...where he should have. people right now are trying to identify the order these backs are going to come off the board. IMO there aren't many that are ahead of Penny right now. I hope he's there in the 3rd. As I said backs sometimes slide, but right now I think he's moved close to being a Top 50 pick.

He also has the footballs deflated to help with the fumbles as well.

Penny can't catch and has issues with pass pro. He's a situational back at best unless/until he improves in those areas. And if he doesn't, he's likely a healthy inactive unless he's a ST stud.
Anyway,

Sign me up for Kerryon Johnson in the third...

49 receptions with 6TD's. Fields the ball exceptionally as a KO returner with 8 combined ST TD's. I like his hands enough and many if not most rookie RB's have issues pass blcoking at the NFL level, they just have to be brought along. His size and athletic ability make it clear he should be able to adapt quickly enough.

As for Kerryon Johnson, I like him, but for me he's a bit too similar to gallman. I'd prefer someone with more elusive traits to add that skillset to our backfield.

Penny has 42 receptions over three full seasons. Not sure where you're getting 49 from (or why you'd leave out any context to make it seem like he had 49 receptions this past season). He has averaged less than a reception per game - Larry Centers he's not. And he looked bad trying to catch passes during Senior Bowl practices.

He's a one-trick pony. You'd think after Ron Dayne and Andre Williams, Giants fans would stop getting seduced by gaudy rushing yardage totals, but I guess not.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Most people here don't want Barkley. And, if you don't pick a RB first, you shouldn't pick one at all because there is minimal differential between any below first and what we have right now. And what we have right now, ain't good.

Maybe we should divert our FA money to a RB.

3 of the top 4 rushers in 2017 were taken 2nd round or later, and that doesn't even include possible NFC ROY Alvin Kamara. THAT is why you don't take a RB at #2 - you can get 90% of his production later in the draft.

I have always thought number of TDs was great stat for RB

usually RB that find end zone in College also tend to do it in pros as well
