2015 breakdown on some Bettcher blitzes against Bengals.

Snacks : 2/14/2018 1:08 pm
Talks about how he liked to use his MLB's to blitz. (has diagrams/videos)

So many holes on this roster I keep forgetting we need a competent MLB (or two?) who can lead us and STAY ON THE FIELD. (looking at you Mr. Goodson)

Something to look at during this slow time of year.

The end of the article shows a Bettcher blitz get burned with a screen pass.

Kevin Minter is a FA

Wonder if the Giants would target him since he is familiar with Bettcher's schemes.

This is not a bad idea. He is only 27.

Was he injured this year? Looks like he only played 9 games for Cinci.

From what I found he only wanted a 1 year deal in Cinci this year so he could hit F/A in 2018.

The injury might force him to bring the price down a bit.

Anyone have an idea on what he could be asking for on the open market? (a guess?)
I like aggressive Defensive

so i like the Bettcher hire a lot.

I also like Spaqs because of this also.

With a aggressive scheme comes big plays though and for the blitzes to work you need good players.

Each on of those videos 1 player had to make a play, if that play wasn't made, it could have been a big gain. It a fine line between looking like a hero or a zero. The story of Spag's life as DC.
It is great to be aggressive and blitz......

and in most of those blitzes, the blitz was blocked but the Cardinal defenders beat their blocker. That is why it works. If you have guys that don't blitz well, you are going to get burned often.
I remember

So many of our Blitz's failing because of bad timing by the S or LB; running up to the line guessing the snap count, having to stop on a snap held, then as soon as they stopped the ball was snapped and all mo was lost.
Some guys just don't have the sense of timing to effect a blitz.
Besides the DL creating gaps,

You need coverage to stay on top of their guy long enough for the QB to either eat the ball, or slam it toward a RB or TE held in to block.
