If I were gonna start with a couple albums I'd go with "Bravery, Repetition, and Noise" and "And This is Our Music". "Take it From the Man" is probably their closest effort to anything that could be considered mainstream popular. Enjoy the deep dive.
I read this thread, and went straight to youtube to check them out. One of the tracks sounded familiar, then I realized it's the theme to Boardwalk Empire. Next stop on the web is Amazon for some cd's. Thanks again.
Of my very favorite live shows!!! More so 10-15 years ago but still great recently!!! After Dig came out all the audiences wanted to see was Anton fighting with band members, still awesome shows though!!!
Was opening for these guys in 98 at the Saint in Asbury. Really cool group of guys, but Anton was a rockstar. Complete jerk. Mad props to them for still being around. I have no clue how they have a fanbase though
That never happens...
Just For Today....wow what a tune
Thanks for the tips
Dig - ( New Window )
There are some really great bits in that film. It was amazing watching Anton compose The Devil May Care right in front of you.
Anton's record label is pretty good: "The Committee to Keep Music Evil". Check out Castleface and In The Red Records too.
It's clear he is an ass
That said...his music is questionable and brilliant at the same time...
As a complete offering...I find it hard to argue with his genius
Maybe I just like that LA 60's vibe...
That's great music
Shimmy Disc and Kramer lead the way to this sound...
It's all great stuff
