man i have had a rough 2018... got the flu around jan 20... got over that. then got a weird nasal congestion. Now i have a throat infection. its almost as if i have been sick every two weeks.
anyone else having a rough 2018 immune system wise?
My kids are taking a beating, though. Outside of having a cold every other week, my daughter had the flu mid January, and just came down with strep this past weekend. Of course, today is her birthday so it's a real bummer. My son also has strep.
You all need to expose yourself to germs so your immune system Â
I make it a point to soak in my septic tank every weekend during the summer.
That serves absolutely zero purpose, whatsoever. you're swimming in your own shit. Call a neighbor, and see if you can jump into theirs. Can't get accustomed to new shit, if you're bathing in your old shit.
My immune system is usually pretty good. No cold so far. Â
I am a teacher so I am around sick kids all the time. However, my son went to daycare and woke up around 10 or 11 at night Tuesday night with the flu. He showed no signs of it right before he went to bed around 7. He was throwing up every 10 minutes early on and then it went tp about every 20 minutes until about 5 in the morning. I felt so bad for him. He is 2 and a half. My wife and I were up all night with him.
My mother watched him Wednesday. He was a little sluggish earpy in the day but what was running around like nothing happened later in the day. He was supposed to go back to daycare Thursday but my mother said she'd watch him again. Well, my wife got a text from my mom that she was throwing up so my wife had to leave work early. My mother drove home (dumbass) and just made it. She was throwing up for almost 2 days on and off.
Thursday night my wife starts throwing up. I'm like what the fuck? Friday morning around 3 in the morning I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. I got really bad stomach pains, really bad joint pain, a fever, the shakes, and the chills. I got everything but never threw up. That lasted all of Friday but I couldn't sleep because someome had to watch my son. I had to tough through it. It was rough. My son tore up the house but he was a good kid. He basically babysat himself. On Saturday I felt fine and took him to get a mew toy. My wife still doesn't feel great.
I call up my mom to see how she is doing and she was better but then she said my dad threw up all Saturday and had the aches amd pains all day Sunday.
Jus your immune system has been compromised. You could be susceptible to many more diseases now in your future. Get that checked out Bruhh.
always had a bad immune system. Though this year has been the worst its ever been for me. My kids havent been sick but i feel like i am getting the germs that they arent.
is a rough couple weeks for the family. Hope you all get better quickly. You too GMAN..
Been lucky here. Only a couple colds in the family and they went by quickly. I seemed to have some aches and chills a few days after the flu shot, but minor and it was really gone by the 2nd morning.
But I was getting sick 3-4 times a year just during the cold flu months -- daughter being in day care the last 2-3 years sure didn't help. She's still in daycare this year. Started taking something called immune-fx, its some kind of all natural supplement from the people's chemist website-- my accupunturist told me to take it.
Haven't gotten sick once. Not one cold or flu. Last year and year prior were nightmares. Not once this year. It got sick tomorrow I'd still be thrilled with the results. Immune-fx. I also do the neti pot every morning.
This past Christmas break, 3 kids got the flu (my oldest was messed up for 2 weeks - he could barely walk), the one that didn't get the flu ended up getting strep.
All of us also have had various colds over the last 2 months. This year has been terrible so far.
Flu is lasting about a month, colds 2 solid weeks and often near the end becoming bronchitis, especially for those people " over 21" (40s+).
My wife had the cold about the entirety of January. I had 'something' for a week but haven't shaken all the effects a month later.
I started with ear pain and headaches.. pain in my teeth and eyes.. The unbearable pain would start around 7PM every night. I felt congested but could not shake it out. The pain got so bad that my mood would change. It did not hurt to chew food... it was like tremendous pressure. I had to sleep sitting up and it would subside by morning.
Went on ZPACK, no help. Then Steroids and Levaquin. So once that ran its cost I started to drain and the pain went away..
Last week, my wife has started with the same symptoms. I am not sure what it was. Maybe a really bad sinus infection.
This is the first year otherwise that I did not have the normal cough and congestion.
thankfully I've been very healthy and will meet my goal of being Â
get 8 plus hours of sleep, take Emergen C, & wash my hands like I have OCD, which I probably do this time of the year.
Most importantly: drink Whisky. As you can tell by the spelling, I prefer Scotch.
Hmm. Irish is good, too. (Older Bushmills in my case.) The other advice (maniacal hand washing, sleep, etc.) is well worth following as well. Oh. And get the damned vaccine if you haven't already done that.

I disagree on the shot. It's only 36% effective overall, 25% for this particular strain. I'm 94% effective on my own (3 cases in 54 yrs) :-)

Yeah, I go the shot a couple of weeks back. I know it's effectiveness isn't as high this year, but it's better than not getting the shot. Also, R-E-L-A-X. I'm usually a pretty stressed out person (lots of anxiety) so I really try to keep calm. Also, I usually go for a walk for lunch. Fresh air is great to clean out the lungs.
Don't get sick. My immune system is great. Manuka honey, Oregano oil, olive leaf extract are in constant rotation along with a decent diet and intermittent fasting.

Me and my wife have both been sick more than usual. It really sucks this year

On the upswing but been a rough last couple days..
One of the days I had flu like symptoms
Now it's just congestion in ears and chest.
Whatever I'll take it, not the worst

My son came home from college for the weekend with a very mild case of the flu and he is 100% good to go back today.

Not a big whiskey/Scotch guy. I'm a IPA hophead.

There are a few supplements that can help your immune system.
But getting enough sleep and drinking water is very helpful.
