has over $700M in their endowment. That's where they should be hit. And have coaching bans, fines, etc. But taking it out on the players who did the work on the court is more evidence that the NCAA is as dumb as ever.

I'm just expressing my hatred for K and what the Duke program has become. Not that I've ever been a fan but at least I used to respect his program a little.
Anyway it's called Deflecting.
Kind of like what you did in the OP when the subject matter is Louisville

Agreed.
NCAA.
FIFA.
IOC.
GO AWAY.
And they can take Penn State, Michigan State amd Baylor with them.
sneakers deals but players can't take laundry or food money. Thugs of every kind are tolerated so long as they win. No pretense of education made, just eligibility. What a disgrace.
The two are not mutually exclusive though - MAB's point is also valid. The programs that have a bunch of one-and-done players are not technically breaking any rules when their players barely participate in more than one semester of college, but is it any less of a farce?
shady stuff going on. Then again, I hate them so I'm biased.
Of course they do. It's not a coincidence that as soon as they hired Capel, right after Oklahoma fired him for giving improper benefits, they suddenly start out-Kentuckying Kentucky with the OADs.

+1. I never liked or understood the vacating wins/titles, especially years later.
RE: Greg---How come you have such a hardon for the Tar Heels?
B)They blatantly cheated for two decades and got away with it because some non-athletes also took the phony classes, since they were listed in the course catalog to maintain the illusion that they were legitimate. All this while maintaining their haughtiness about the "Carolina Way". They're frauds, pure and simple.

I get the impression here that most who have been up in arms about the UNC debacle despise Duke and Coach K equally as much. It's just a joke how the NCAA handled the UNC scandal, which is much more relevant to this conversation than Duke.
be busted for some infractions just to see Greg's response. But I agree with Greg that Bennett & that program seems clean. I actually don't mind UVA @ all & think Bennett is a helluva coach.
Agreed.

That is an outstanding trifecta. In order of disgraceful, I would go FIFA, IOC, then the NCAA. ;)
There, finished your sentence for you.

One of the things that rarely gets brought up with Duke is Nolan Smith's stepfather, Curtis Malone (DC Assault). You had to pay to play with Curtis.
This. The NCAA lost any semblance of fairness when Penn State not only didn't get the death penalty, but Joe Paterno's records were restored.

I take it you root for UVA. TB is a great coach who gets the most out of his players. Always fun to watch them play defense.
I'd would be great if they play again in the NCAA's. Probably be closer than the last game
