Maybe switch Minter for Mark Barron if he is released by the Rams. He is similar to Deonne Buccanon

Looks good. At first glance I see no DRC. I hope not.

My reasoning for Barkley is he is the BPA.

I think Darnold goes to the Browns at #1, so he is off the board otherwise he'd be my pick.

It comes down to Barkley/Rosen/Allen for me

-Rosen too many medical issues, pro-ready is his best trait as a prospect but the Giants have Eli. Apparently he had to quit playing tennis b/c of a shoulder injury? (Or at least according to Cris Carter on FS1)

-Allen- less than 60% in the Mountain West conference, too big of a gamble at #2 with a talent like Barkley on the board

Could keep DRC instead of Cockrell. I went with Cockrell because he is younger and a bit cheaper, but I like DRC just not sure about paying him 8.5 mil to be on the field for less than 50% of the defensive snaps.

I actually really like Orlando Brown. Some compare him to Flowers (Geoff Schwartz did) but he has way better technique. It's not even close. That guy is like a wall on the blind-side at 6'8, 350lbs.

Best part, as of now he can definitely be had at pick #34 as the OT3 behind McGlinchey and Connor Williams. Cam Robinson went in a similar range last year. Ramcyzk lasted until 32.
==========
GiantFilthy : 2/20/2018 3:55 pm : link

QB: Geno Smith
HB: William Joseph
FB: Sinorice Moss
WR: Tam Hopkins, Matt Dodge
TE: Eli Manning

LT: Ereck Flowers
LG: Preston Parker
OC: Trey Junkin
RG: Reuben Randle
RT: Also Eli Manning

Latest version:
adamg : 2/20/2018 4:03 pm : link
QB Eli Manning, Sam Darnold, Davis Webb
RB Kerryon Johnson (3rd and 4th round compensatory in trade up), Wayne Gallman, Orleans Darkwa (2 years 5 mill), Paul Perkins
TE Evan Engram, Rhett Ellison, Jerrell Adams
WR Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard, Brandon Marshall (pay cut to 3.5 mill), Jake Wieneke (6th rounder), Roger Lewis
LT Martinas Rankin (2nd rounder pick), Chad Wheeler
LG Andrew Norwell (6 years 70 mill), John Jerry
C Brett Jones
RG Justin Pugh (4 years 50 mill)
RT Ereck Flowers

DE Jason Pierre-Paul, Dalvin Tomlinson, Kentavius Street (5th rounder), Romeo Okwara
NT Snack Harrison, Robert Thomas
OLB Olivier Vernon, Devon Kennard (3 years 8.5 mill), Avery Moss
ILB BJ Goodson, Nigel Bradham (4 years 25 mill), Fred Warner (4th rounder), Calvin Munson
CB Janoris Jenkins, DRC, Ross Cockrell (2 years 8 mill), Eli Apple
FS Darian Thompson, Andrew Adams
SS Landon Collins

8 players remaining would be late FA picks up in the secondary (at both S and CB), cheap old OLB ER type (like Julius Peppers). And UDFAs potentially at TE, WR (knocking off either Marshall or Lewis), RB (knocking off Perkins), etc.

Nelson @2 is a little high, value wise; and can he play RG?
Can EF handle a speed or flexible ER better there than he can at LT? Will OB make it to 34? Finally, can we get AN?
Whole lotta ??? there. But if we can be on a + roll the way much of our last 6-7 offseason have been on a - roll, having a hopefully good, YOUNG, OL would be excellent for Eli's last year or 2 as well as whoever the new QB is, over the next 3 seasons at least(with a tweak or 2 in that time).

Interesting trade. Who would Carolina trade up for in your oppinion? Fitzpatrick? Chubb? Nelson? All 3 would make sense, just not sure I see them as a partner. Doubt Gettleman wants to throw them a bone after the way they dumped him right before training camp lol.

Absolutely. The NFL is a win-now league. You do everything you can to win if you are a respectable franchise like the Giants, Packers, Steelers etc.

Do you think the Eagles give a damn that they have NEGATIVE 12 million in cap space and only 1 pick in the first 2 days of the draft? No- that Super Bowl was worth it.

I like it. Maye I'd switch out Jefferson for a guy with more pass-rush ability although I can't complain about having a surplus of athletic LB's.

I traded down a couple times to accumulate 2nd round picks. As a result no "Gold Chip". Actually got less than "value" in the trades. However the overall draft really addresses a lot of needs for a lot of years.

Giants draft the QB with the 2nd pick. In the 2nd round no need for an Olineman. Instead get DE which can get time subbing JPP - just giving both Ends a rest.

QB Webb
RB Darkwa
LT Fleming
LG Fulton
C--- Jones
RG Hubbard
RT Flowers
TE#1 Engram
TE#2 Ellison
WR ODBJ
WR Shepard
Defense
giantstock : 2/23/2018 1:27 am : link
Time to stop wiht the fantasy that teh Giants need to play and win games 38-35. Got to build with a front 7. Got to always feed the defense with talent. This year maybe the move is to not only get a quality linebacker but draft high on defense too.

And we're going with a 4-3.

DE 's Vernon and JPP.
DT's Snacks and Tomlinson
ILB Avery Williamson (FA)
OLBs Mingo (FA) and Keenan (resign)
CBs Jenkins and Cromartie
S Collins and Tre Boston (Free Agent)

In RD 2 the giants take Sam Hubbard from Ohio State if available. If not take Okoronkwo. Defensive rush will always be fresh.
