Carolina is expected to let OLG Andrew Norwell hit free agency. Will likely be a first-day signing for big bucks. NYG?
They have too much tied up in that OL.. That's not saying they won't try to get clever with a new contract but its a long shot they keep him. Last I saw they were projected around 11-15 million in space.
In case anybody is interested I just looked up the dates for the tags Â
A team can start to place tags on players February 20th until March 6 at 4 p.m. Free Agency starts March 14th. If a team tagged a player hoping to work out a long term deal they have until July 16th.
If it was us, I’d be pissed if we couldn’t figure out some sort of way to make room to tag him. In about 2-3 weeks he could be a Giant. Get him, some more OL and some vet LB’s, hopefully DG can identify talent at those positions alot better than Reese did.
Is about signing real stars and hoping they remain injury free while producing for the team. In most cases teams don’t win on two of the three boxes but they continue to play the FA game with lesser players for Star dollars.
a lot of money tied into Ryan Kalil, Matt Kalil and Trai Turner. They also have Moton who they might swing over to guard. Don't really see them tying 50+ mil a season into their offensive line. Norwell likely becomes the higest paid Guard in the NFL and rightfully so, hes a nasty SOB
RE: Check the records. Has DG ever referred to Norwell as a Â
The guy is a good player. But let’s not act like he’s Larry Allen or Will Shields. How many OGs are franchised?
Not just OG, but centers are also never tagged. The NFL lumps all positions on the OL together and bases the franchise tag off the highest salaries which typically are the Left Tackle.
We'll find out if this is true in 3 weeks, though likely sooner with an announcement or 2.
Cornerback: $14.212 | $15.212 | $15.04
Defensive end: $16.934 | $17.414 | $17.22
Defensive tackle: $13.387 | $14.159 | $14.00
Linebacker: $14.55 | $15.197 | $15.03
Offensive line: $14.271 | $14.299 | $14.14
Kicker or punter: $4.835 | $5.017 | $4.96
Quarterback: $21.268 | $23.555 | $23.29
Running back: $12.12 | $12.054 | $11.90
Safety: $10.896 | $11.465 | $11.34
Tight end: $9.78 | $10.001 | $9.90
Wide receiver: $15.682 | 16.235 | $16.05
This is a guy we need to be aggressive on.
While I am not sure if he has referenced him as such... he fits the profile of a hog molly

Everyone remember Schwartz???
