All this talk of QB's

Tom from LI : 2/21/2018 4:08 pm
So I looked up some college stats of a bunch of different QB's and was comparing stats.

Besides wins and losses in college.. and against what competition.. how do we know who is and isn't a no question franchise QB?
n
We all have opinions.. I saw Greg from Long Island do this once in a thread about running backs. So I am stealing his idea and applying it to QB's.

Without looking up college stats guess which QB is for each set of stats?

We can discuss this afterwards. My opinion is that there is no guarantee that any of these QB's in the draft will be franchise QB's. Not saying they will be bad.. but some of you act like there is a for gone conclusion that certain QB's are a certainty while others aren't.

Alright, so who do you think is is who on this list?

The list contains Eli, Rosen, Darnold, Brady and Webb

Brady has the least

and I think Mayfield has the most.
yards wise

Mayfield isn't even an option.
Eli is the one with the most INTs
BigBlueDownTheShore : 2/21/2018 4:14 pm : link
Darnold is the one with 17 Ints.

No clue about the rest.
I'll play, just pure guesses
SeanLandeta : 2/21/2018 4:15 pm : link
Brady (wasn't good enough to start exclusively so explains less yards)
Eli (slightly lower stats due to length of time that has passed and the increase in pass-happy offense)
Rosen
Darnold
Webb

Last 3 are pure guesses in random order.
And now I've looked it up to find out...
SeanLandeta : 2/21/2018 4:18 pm : link
I'm way off. Which I'm not surprised by at all.
here is the order
Tom from LI : 2/21/2018 4:25 pm : link
1)Brady
2)Darnold
3)Webb
4)Manning
5)Rosen
pretty neat that

Eli and Davis are extremely close in college stats..

Darnold stat wise looks to be the best of the bunch..

He stats mirror Wentz when he was drafted.
I like this.

Good post!
No one drafts a QB by looking up stats at ESPN.Com

So I’m not sure I get the point if this exercise. Is this what you think scouts do? Maybe for fantasy football.
Dammit! Wrong again.

I thought the answer to "All this talk of QB's" was "making me hungry".

Stats weren't from ESPN. What I am saying is that these stats good or bad are a reflection of game play in live action.

All this talk about how accurate Rosen is.. and he isn't nearly as accurate as Darnold. Spin it any way you want.. people here like to cherry pick. I am not saying that you can judge these QB's by stats alone, but they are what starts the conversation. If you were going on raw talent then it would be Josh Allen by a mile even though his completion percentage is equal to a coin flip.

Carson Wentz's college stats are almost identical to Darnold.

I find it funny that Eli and Davis stats are almost exactly the same.

I want Darnold but I have a funny feeling the Giants are not going to draft a QB.

How the so called experts make the distinctions are not completely known to us, first of all I think that player must be looked at on every down of every game, stats never tell the entire story. Are they ever certain? I really don't know and I wouldn't make believe that I am an expert. I know 1 thing, I want a great QB on my team first and foremost.
