Barkley

WeekendLife56 : 2/22/2018 7:23 pm
I want this kid because I love watching the game. Everything I know about football says no not smart at 2. But he is just fun to watch straight up.
He also checks the character box many times over

Running back is better. Trade down 6-8 spots, pick up a first next year, give the Golden Arm from Cal a shot in a couple of years.

The only pick I like at 2 is Baker Mayfield if we stay there
BARKLEY! BARKLEY! BARKLEY!

But of course Shumur WAS OC when the Vikes took Cook.
TC : 2/22/2018 7:38 pm : link
Hmmm . . . ?

And he looked really good in those 4 games!
Cook was taken in the early 40s
UConn4523 : 2/22/2018 7:41 pm : link
not 2 overall. I doubt that has any bearing at all on what Shurmur and DG want to do.
I'd rather a potential franchise QB if Gettleman &
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 2/22/2018 7:42 pm : link
Shurmur think one is there, but if it's Barkley, so be it. I didn't see much of him this year, but he impressed me in the Fiesta Bowl vs. Washington.
Like I have said before,

The one thing we cannot do is miss regardless of position. This player needs to be a hit. Odds are we do not bring Pugh back. Flowers doesn't look like he will be here long term. Neither does Apple. That is horrendous.
He's going 1st

Doubtful.
Barkley & Nelson are no-brainers ....
Manny in CA : 2/22/2018 8:26 pm : link

I posted an eval. of the top seven, (in an earlier post) from NFL.com, Great Blue North, Sports Illustrated, Bleacher Report, Draft Countdown, and CBS Sports ....

Barkley Ratings - #1, #1, #1, #1, #3, #7

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfMF-uBQGAI

Nelson Ratings - #2, #8, #2, #2, #2, #3

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGOqAxNIO1o

Everybody else at the top of the board is good, but not like those two.

That's fair

I'd love to have Saquon Barkley on the team. He will help this team right from the day he is drafted. Not only is he a great player, he is also a great presence and a culture-changer.

He will be an easy guy to root for and there would be a lot of jealous fans from other teams (especially the Eagles fan-base as they love Barkley over there)

And then we take Darnold at #2 and don't look back

A running back is only as good as his offensive line.

Is LSU your alma mater? I thought so. And I love liverwurst too.

Any QB you pick at #2 will only be as good as his OL. Eli is going to play for another 1-2 years, so what exactly is your point? The Giants will definitely upgrade the OL in that period. We already know that Gettleman doesn't see the status quo as viable, so OL changes will happen.

Behind a decent (it doesn't have to be great) OL I see Barkley as having a far more likely impact than a Rosen or Darnold. Barkely is so far ahead of his peers it's really not a comparison except for those who look at numbers in a vacuum. Just not seeing the over the top value in those two QBs that everyone else seems to see. Teams will game plan for Barkley. Do you see them scratching their heads over Rosen or Darnold considering all the other comparable QBs they play? My eyes don't see it. BTW, has anyone whose opinion you respect called Rosen or Darnold "generational"? Fairly common term used when describing Barkley.
Especially after the drudge

of watching last year's games,Barkley and OBJ would bring the fun back.
It's not fun

If you lose.
Most overrated player in the draft
Flem17454 : 2/23/2018 6:36 pm : link
He leaves a ton of yardage on the field

Below average runner between the tackles
Barkley Hass VERY good chance to be a generational player
Canton : 2/23/2018 6:49 pm : link
Like OBJ.
