1. Quenton Nelson OG. Notre Dame
2. Derrius Guice RB LSU
3. Darius Leonard OLB South Carolina St. Harry Carson Alma Mater
4. Kameron Kelly CB San Diego St
4. Fred Warner OLB BYU
5. Cedric Wilson WR Boise St
6. Holton Hill CB Texas
Barkley was taken number one
I will say taking Nelson #2 doesn't maximize the 'value' of the #2 pick imo. If Barkley went #1 there will be QB suitors salivating for a chance at the top guy on their board. If we are passing up on the QB imo you have to take the opportunity to revamp this roster with a haul of picks that could not only help the roster but bring in that youth infusion to remake the 'culture' in the locker room.

I agree. I didn’t know how to trade down in the Fanspeak Simulator
But I’m definitely on the Don’t Take a QB bandwagon in this draft
Jim. I think Eli plays another two years. I also think Webb needs and should be given the chance to develop
And what makes you think Rosen and Darnold are franchise QBs and are any better than Webb
Giants are a win now team. Not rebuilding
Honestly I would’ve taken Barkley with the pick and Barkley is my choice if he’s there at 2
Darnold will quickly become a top-10 NFL QB and has as much upside as any of the current top QBs in the NFL.

Earl, obviously I don't know Jack (none of us do compared to the professional evaluators) but Darnold and Rosen will very likely be top 5 picks while Webb was chosen in the 3rd RD of a QB-poor draft. I don't think any of the "pros" think Webb is even close in terms of talent to Darnold and Rosen, so NO, Webb should NOT be given a chance to develop if it means passing on a much-more talented QB.
And I'm not really sure if Eli has ANY good years left, let alone two. He has been in decline his last 2 years and 37 yr old QBs don't usually rebound after the decline starts.
It's why I'd draft Darnold in a hot second. I'm not as sold on the other options but I'd think long and hard before passing on them.

I think a Gettleman stated Eli will be QB this year
So that means Rosen or Darnold sit this year and possibly next
Giants are in no position to have the number 2 pick overall not contribute for the next two years
If Eli wasn’t on this team then I would draft a QB
Why? Because it's the only use of the #2 pick that immediate contribution does not matter a whit. It's a pick about the future.
It's also a lie because if and when circumstances dictate a change at QB they will make it.
What leads you to believe Rosen or Darnold will be Rothelisberger or Rivers, and not turn out to be Tim Couch or Akili Smith?

Did you not watch any games this season? This is not a talented team that was crippled by injuries or bad luck. This is a team that doesn't have enough talent to compete, and that is not going to be fixed in one off season.

Yea Mike. I watched every game. There’s enough talent to compete and turn things around with the proper coaching staff
What they can’t afford is to have their first pick sit on the bench and not contribute I’m on the Barkley bandwagon
(Thus, more complacent about the overall nature of the team on any given sunday).
Most of us have more recent... if not ongoing ...blue collar roots:
That is....often loosing on the balance sheet... but gritty and tough ..everyday and..... wanting to see gritty and tough and " we may not beat you but you cannot beat US".... every given Sunday.
So. If that's us. Trade down and stockpile those types of players. The ' you cannot beat US ' type of football players.

I saw an ill prepared team that all but quit once the wheels fell off.
How do you explain what happened after 1992? Or 1996? Or even 2004? Or the Rams after 2016?
The Giants have plenty of good players. They were a mess last year they weren't completely devoid of talent early on, with the OL and RB being the exception.
With that said then Saquan Barkley is the best player in the draft and should be the giants pick if available
Exciting like a spinach salad.
Further with our OLine Eli is the guy I want dealing with the rush. At least this year.
