I cannot wrap my head around the BBI thought process this year. Most on the board last year were all in on Whitworth who signed a monster contract at 35 years old.
Nate Solder is 30 years old and I have seen over and over again that we shouldn’t sign him since he would be on the decline and back end of his career.
Most point to Solder’s back injury, but if you look back on injury histories Whitworth was held out of games due to back injuries and knee issues as late as 2015.
Then, take 2 solid drafts to find their replacements.
Move on down the road.
Last I checked we won 2 Super Bowls with David Dheil at LT, not a perennial pro-bowler.
We need a serviceable LT. Flowers can contribute somewhere, but thinking Wheeler is going to be the answer isn't the real answer. He could be, but we can definitely do better.
