Jeremiah post combine Mock Draft (2.0)
Browns = Darnold
Giants = Barkley
Many here will be happy if he is right.
Also, he has Will Hernandez - OG, UTEP - going at #18 in first round. Sounds like he won't be an option for the Giants at #2.
Jeremiah mock draft 2.0: Broncos, Ravens among 5 to take QB - (
New Window )
Cleveland put themselves into a weird situation in that they are in a desperate need for QB. Darnold was the #1 overall consensus pick at the beginning of the year in showed some warts in the middle of last season. I think some of these experts still are convinced that he is the best QB out there ahead of the rest of the field. If Cleveland feels that his mistakes of correctible, he could very well be the number #1. It will be interesting as to what happens during and after Darnold's pro day on March 21st. I do agree with you, Joey, Barkley would be very hard to pass up at #1. This could be a nerve-racking decision for Cleveland. But who knows? If I am the Giants and Barkley is taken at #1 and they feel there is a separation between Darnold and the rest of the QBs, I would snatch up Darnold in a heartbeat and go forward. Cleveland could very well regret not taking a quarterback this time around at #1 as much as regretting not taking Barkley.
I agree. Someone will be enamored with him enough to take him in the first.
Trivia, back in 2013 three OG's were taken in the first, and a Center. They were Jonathan Cooper, Chance Warmack, Kyle Long, and Travis Frederick. That's the most interior O-linemen taken in the first round since 1996, when four guards were taken, including HOF'er Jonathan Ogden. Four interior OL were taken in '86, '83, '75, and '66.
1968 there were five interior OL taken in the first round, a record.
Here is your trivia question: Who was the last interior Offensive lineman the NY Giants drafted in the first round and in what year? If you look it up, just be honest!
Nope.

That end up going in the first somewhere around the 20-25 range. Darnold 1, Barkley 2... As long as we get one of Sammy or Saquon i'm good.
I agree. Someone will be enamored with him enough to take him in the first.

Justin Pugh and Luke Petitgout both saw action as an OG and OT. Do you mean a pure OG? The Giants did draft Brian Williams, a C, in Round 1 in the late 80's
Petitgout was the LT for Notre Dame in 1998...another good trivia question answer is that in the 1999 draft, the NY Giants drafted BOTH starting Notre Dame OTs. Mike Rosenthal was the starting RT on that Notre Dame line, and the Giants drafted him in the 5th round of the 1999 draft.
Eric Moore was a really good guess but he was a OT for Indiana. The correct answer is indeed Brian Williams. This was well before he was busted lying about coming under fire in Iraq. Kidding, of course. Brian Williams was drafted in 1989 out of University of Minnesota, and was a Center.
The last Guard the Giants took in the first round was William Roberts in 1984 out of Ohio State, picked #27 overall. He ended up being a very good pick for the Giants, played in one Pro Bowl, but started 154 regular season games, 127 of them with the Giants, and won two Super Bowls. He was definitely a Parcells "guy". When Parcells went to the Patriots, Parcells got him over there by '95, and when Parcells went to the Jets, so did Roberts in 1997, his final year in the league. Roberts rarely missed a start for the Giants from 1987 to 1994.
