They were comparing Florial’s swing to Bonds...but I think he looks a lot like Big Papi. Similar setup and trigger. Obviously he’s got some growing up to do as a player, but he looks like the real deal based on the eye test at this point.
And on another note, I know it’s spring training, but Reyes doesn’t look like he has the range for SS anymore

I agree. Let's hope he is the imnotreally-Haitian Sensation by 2019.
RE: Watching the MLB network feed, it’s the Mets announcers Â

He doesn't - it's Rosario's spot now. Reyes shouldn't be playing SS unless there's an emergency. His range is really bad.
A lot of the big NYY bats are out of the lineup today - but still good to see.
Praying he can stay healthy because I want to see a strong comeback year by Harvey and what your rotation can do. He has filthy stuff and such a repeatable delivery.

You're correct. He's not ready. Torres isn't either but both are close. I think it's going to be Drury at 3B and Wade at 2B for April and maybe May if they both hit enough to hold the 8th and 9th spots.
And while this is wild and early speculation, to me, Machado at 3rd mid year or next year now may make eveb more economic sense
Sell high and early on Andujar ( a free swinging, cant hit a major league curve ball yet and not great defense ...yet) and Frazier ( sub optimal swing and maybe over crowding in the OF especially if Florial is a year away) maybe in the back of Cashman's mind as options he has.
That all said, Id get another SP before anything else. As long as Wade and Drury are fine on defense they can be steady at the plate and we are fine for now
anyone know why not one of Judge, Stanton, Sanchez, Didi, Bird, Hicks, or Torres were in the lineup today? That's the entire offense..
Only a few regulars made the trip because the team just made the cross-state bus trip for today's game. Most of the veterans are in Tampa for a workout.
is murdering the ball this spring. Very interesting problem to have with him, Lind and Austin all being major league bats and there is a good chance 2 of hem won't be on the team that comes north. I know McKinney will most likely be sent down, but there are probably a bunch of major league teams he could make. Unless they just use him as a trade chip you'd have to think he has a place in the future in YS with that sweet lefty stroke. Even though Bird looked awesome in the post season, it will be interesting to see how long Boone goes with him if by chance he struggles in April and May.
Some numbskull in Florida disrupted my work from home while Â
watching the Yankees snow day by scheduling an afternoon call that took 90 minutes...but caught enough to see German looked strong before tiring a bit.
I agree with those saying above that Andujar and Torres are both proving they need more seasoning, despite having a ton of upside. As per usual the past few years, Cashman was a step ahead with the Drury trade
And on another note, I know it’s spring training, but Reyes doesn’t look like he has the range for SS anymore

Yup, he’s still a player, no doubt...i just still think of him in his prime when he got to everything

Encouraging outing for Wheels.

You and me both!
He has looked particularly bad today for sure. Not quite so bad the rest of the spring from what i've seen.
Florial drops a fly ball to score 2 runs and knock German out of the game.
It's because hesnot-Haitian.

That's the best I've ever seen German look. We'll take it.
Damn. Wish the regular season would start already. Going to be an exciting year.

The B squad is still racking up runs though.
