Why label TLG as a fake insider? He was right on Shurmur while the Patricia rumors were blowing up BBI. People put their trust in JonC and Eric, but they were wrong.
irrespective of our opinion of Mayfield, NYG scouts, coaches and GM may see him very differently. Either better or worse. He could be the #3 QB on the Giants board. And if they wish to entertain a windfall trade offer, he could figure in.

I think I read Gettleman quoted as saying that in considering prospects one of the things he likes to do is sit them down and see how much they know about football. Mayfield was reported to be strong on the chalk board, and they may want to explore that knowledge in depth. Obviously, QB is a position where knowing the game is a prerequisite.
And they may also want to test that somewhat prickly personality a little a more.

I do not have any inside info and that is why this place is great this time of year as you try to find nuggets from posters who are in the know. Guys like hitdog or JonC will drop hints in threads and sometimes you will have to “read between the lines.” Or as JonC often explains that most info is fluid and can change at any time. A poster like TLG is the complete opposite and often threatens that he will no longer share info because of the flack he gets. It’s attention whoring at its finest.
