Always made me think of a crappy Jewelry store that tried to pass itself off as high end. I know that's odd, but every single time I hear the name, it evokes the same image.
Writing was on the wall this past season. Henry surpassed him as the lead dog.
McKinnon would be a great fit there - wonder if they'll be interested. Henry is a great early down back, but they'll need a scat who plays better in the pass game.
call him a cap casualty. I'd call him a guy who declined significantly last year and the Titans probably don't feel he'll get back to form or stay healthy.

DeMarco Murray in NE or Indy (if Indy can't get Barkley)...

I hear you on this, though he was injured for the vast majority of the season last year and though production was down, he was a warrior for playing through knee injuries.
Certainly not advocating tires be kicked, but if he's healthy he's still a nice veteran piece for someone (at a much lower $ amount).
Speaking of Gore - guy has almost somehow "quietly" made his way all the way up to 5th all time in rush yards.
He's got to be a HoF'er.
He waltzes in. He receiving numbers are terrific for a back more known for rushing...
Yup - nearly 500 career receptions. Nine 1k+ yard seasons (very close to 11)
Gore was seldom considered a "top tier RB" but he strung together a hell of a career. The longevity is mighty impressive considering the position he plays. 13 years in this league for a running back is an eternity

Just a great model of consistency. Rarely broke down, about 250 carries per year, over 1K per year, about 8tds per year (w/receiving), 40 catches, and he blocks his ass off, etc.
Wish Eli was as consistent at QB as Gore at RB... ; )

Well now I'm probably going to be stuck with that dumb image every time I read his name. Thanks for that

But in a couple other threads about Murray, arc and others convinced me he's probably steeply declining. We'd be lucky to get Jennings-like production out of him and he can't seem to stay healthy - even if he starts that way
If we were going to roll the dice on a vet RB, I actually think Doug Martin still has gas left in the tank. He had a good deal of explosion and looked 100% healthy when I watched him play this past year.
I think with the suspension, and the fact that TB was just a mess almost all year, he never really got into a rhythm.
To be clear, I would much, MUCH prefer to draft a rookie RB or pursue McKinnon if his price tag isn't too high.
Just saying if there's a RB in the FA pool who probably has a few good years left in the right situation, Martin could be that. I'd pursue him way before I went after Murray.

Really like the McKinnon idea. Not a between the tackles guy but very good on the bounce outside, tough, and a crafty receiver...
Fantastic athlete and just played for Shurmur in MIN as well.
Only 25 years old.
Price tag could get a little high - I think he's a guy that a few teams are going to be interested in, but I'd love to bring him in if he's affordable.
Like I said earlier - he'd be a fantastic fit in TEN. They need a player like him to go with Henry.
of why drafting a RB so early in round 1 is a really risky move. I think that RB has to put you over the top in the first few years to justify the risk unless you think you'll be drafting in the early part of round 1 the next draft.

I think he's less than 50/50 going back to Minny with Cook coming back. So I think he's definitely up for grabs. What do you think the going rate is for a 5'9" complimentary back who gets 900+ total yards from rushing and receiving?

I think you'd have to give McKinnon slightly more than what Bernard got from CIN when they extended him 2 years ago.
Probably ~5.5M-6 per year for 3-4 years. Something in that ballpark.
and I'm not totally against taking Barkley at #2, but still think it's silly for some on BBI to totally pooh pooh the concept of short shelf life for RBs. (heh, heh, I said pooh pooh).
DM was 29 last season, his 7th season and averaged 3.6 ypc. Not being critical of him. He's had a pretty good career (drafted in 3rd rd). He might hang around another yr or 2, but his days as a feature back are prolly over.
Gore is the anomaly, as far as career length for RB.

Marlon Mack had a lot of buzz but didn't quite break out when given the chance like some people thought he would.
I personally think Murray is starting to hit a wall. Dallas ran him ragged that last year he was there.
He was fantastic for TEN in 2016 - but if I were a betting man, I'd say he never hits those numbers again.
Murray has been a really good player in this league at times, but he's a guy I'd completely avoid at this stage.
