NGT- Has anyone else still not come to terms with the fact

GMAN4LIFE : 3/9/2018 7:51 am
that the Eagles won a championship?

i mean sometimes i am watching old giants nfl replay and they say that the Eagles have zero championships.

Its still so weird that they have one.

anyone else kind of feel the same way...

I think half of BBI is still fucking celebrating this fucking shit.
Well

I've been TRYING to not think about that but thanks for this wonderful reminder lol. Doesn't help that I'm stuck here in Philly. It's been brutal.

WRATGAS....

If that bothers you more than a day after it happened, then you have serious issues.
I haven't thought about it much lately.

This. I used to think the Eagles winning a Super Bowl would be the end of the world. I rooted against them, but once they won I didn’t really give a shit.

I guess people who are still pissed are mad because they can’t do the zero rings joke anymore.

Made me realize the universe is cruel and feckless void and everything is meaningless and hopeless.

I had my greatest source of joy stolen from me that day, trolling Eagles fans with this picture.

All these moments will be lost in time... like tears in the rain.

Honestly I have already forgotten about it - maybe I just put it out of my mind.

There are so many more fun things to focus on - we are on to a new season: sitting at #2 in the draft, free agency, a new offensive system, a new defensive system are all going to be awesome to watch to see how this all comes together

Can Shurmur get Eli and Odell to regain that magic? Can Odell recover from his injury? Can our defense come back together?

Too much fun stuff to focus on now as they hunt for that 5th trophy.
Some days I feel like everything is going to be okay.
Boy Cord : 3/9/2018 9:01 am : link
Other days, I just don’t feel I can go on as a football fan. Totally serious.

that Giants management feels the same way I do & will do everything in their power this off season to make sure it doesn't happen again. It's why I'm so looking forward to Monday-Wednesday of next week when FA starts unofficially/officially! I have a lot of faith in DG!

The NFC East rules

1) it is the only division in the league where all teams have won a Super Bowl.

2) The Belichick-Brady Super Bowl scorecard:
2-0 against the NFC West
2-0 against the NFC South
1-3 against the NFC East

3) NFC East has 13 Super Bowl winners, or 25 percent of championships won. The AFC East is second with eight.
One thing at a time...

Im still trying to figure out how anyone calling themselves a Giants fan was rooting for the Philthy Dirty Birds in the Supe. Once I’m past that I’ll try to process the Iggles actually winnning the Super Bowl.
GMAN. Think this through. Why do we hate the Eagles?
Marty in Albany : 3/9/2018 9:15 am : link
Not because they are successful or unsuccessful, but because they are the Eagles!

The same goes for the very successful Cowboys (and for those of us who hate the Pats).
Do many fans really sit around thinking about other teams
Mike from Ohio : 3/9/2018 9:34 am : link
and getting worked up about it? I rooted against the Eagles and am disappointed they won a title now, but I don't think I thought about that since the day after the Superbowl.

It's just a sport.
jesus i was just bullshitting on this day...
GMAN4LIFE : 3/9/2018 9:38 am : link
obviously from my other thread, i wanted some talk to get me through the day since i was up since 2am.

But its always comforting for people to tell me to get a life and basically grow up. :)
No. I haven't.

And I don't think I ever will. I hate that f*cking franchise.
We've been lucky enough to win 4
Metnut : 3/9/2018 9:41 am : link
and won two of them pretty recently with epic runs so it doesn't really bother me. They were bound to win one eventually (I'm still not sure how those Andy Reid teams never broke through).

I'm more concerned with the Giants getting their shit together so fall Sundays are fun again. This year really sucked, and I'm hoping for a quick turnaround..

Gloating over an empty trophy case always seemed like a lame thing for a grown-up to do anyway.
I reminded an Eagle fan yesterday that they've got 1
Hammer : 3/9/2018 9:52 am : link

Just sayin...

So, you were up at 2am worrying about this? You need professional help.

I really don't think the "get a life" and "get help" posts are necessary here. We all hate the fucking Eagles. It sucks that they won. The guy couldn't sleep and posted about it here. Who cares.

I'm over it, personally - but enough with the "seek help" responses. It's a harmless thread.

to reconcile what the hell Belichick was doing with Malcolm Butler while his secondary was making Foles look like Joe Montana...

It's not on the level of the Pete Carroll/Darrell Bevell decision not to run Lynch on the goal at the end of Super Bowl 49, but it's an amazing mystery that may one day result in several books...

Snowflakes... good one. Haven't heard that before.

You're telling someone you don't even know to go seek professional help because they made a thread about the Eagles winning the Super Bowl.

Seems more like just being a douchebag than "harmless needling," but you go on ahead and put your cute red hat on keep being you, tough guy.

Same here. As you saw them play through November and before Wentz got injured, they looked like the best team in the league that could win the title.

Once they through their two home playoff games, it looked clear to me that they had better players than New England man-for-man. So the result of the Super Bowl was not a complete shock. They won.

Eagles have a very good squad and appear to be run very efficiently. Now, we have to figure out a way to beat them.

That was really strange. It may have cost them the SB.

I really respect Belichick. Admire his work in New England - has built the greatest dynasty in the history of the NFL.

But what he did to Butler felt almost treasonous to the team. The evidence kept piling up that (1) the DBs in the game were struggling to cover, (2) the pass rush was a non-factor, and (3) Foles was getting way too comfortable.

It's the last game of this year for the biggest prize - all hands on deck. Don't leave you one of your best cover corners on the bench, when he's not even injured, because of some bullsh-t excuse that's been drummed up that no one can really corroborate...
Eagles super bowl
bc4life : 3/9/2018 6:41 pm : link
was the Falcons game. When they won that game, I thought that this was probably their year.

Butler issues aside, this was arguably one of weakest BB teams to get to the SB. Thought their DLine was a bigger problem than the secondary. Once Cooks went out - I thought that limited NEs chances to go over the top and shot it out wuth the Eagles.

Eagles were a very balanced team.

My buddy is an Eagles fan and it took me until a few days ago to call him and say congrats.

He was whining - "Man, you're a day late and a dollar short. You should have called right after the game". My response - "F*** you, you're lucky I called at all. STFU and enjoy your championship season"
If the Butler move was not a disciplinary move
St. Jimmy : 3/9/2018 11:44 pm : link
it was the worst coaching decision in the history of the Superbowl. It threw away two weeks of preparation and wrecked the defense. It handed the game to the Eagles and they had all game to realize it was a mistake and didn't. If it wasn't a discipline move, Belichick screwed us as Giant fans.
