This is the kind of thing that happens with Beckham. Given who he is, combined with the NY media scrutiny, anything that happens with Beckham is a much bigger deal than pretty much any player. This is not necessarily fair, but it is reality. This is going to follow Beckham for his entire career.
I personally have no issue with Beckham's passion or work ethic. I think Beckham should be more aware and not put himself in these kind of situations, but that is not who he is (at least at the moment). For me the only real issue is if the media circus that surrounds Beckham becomes a distraction for the team, locker room etc.
Gettleman and Shurmur made a point about everyone starting with a clean slate. Obviously what players do from here is what matters. The Giants obviously have some big investments to consider with Beckham.
The tipping point would be if Beckham's off-field drama impacts the team more than the benefits on having him on the field. I don't believe the front office believe that at this point. Gettleman has shown with Josh Norman, he is willing to shed star players for a better team outcome; he is willing to make the tough business decisions.
Should we be wanting to move on from Beckham, I imagine John Dorsey would be quite keen and has the resources to get it done. I don't think anything is likely, but if these kind of antics continue, the patience of the Giant's front office could start to wear thin.

But I don't necessarily agree with this comment.. the people you hang out with, NFL player under the spotlight or not, will have an impact on perception and can influence actions. If the headline is true, he doesn't just know someone who has done it, he's hanging out with them while they have it and are likely using it.

I personally have no issue with Beckham's passion or work ethic. I think Beckham should be more aware and not put himself in these kind of situations, but that is not who he is (at least at the moment). For me the only real issue is if the media circus that surrounds Beckham becomes a distraction for the team, locker room etc.
Gettleman and Shurmur made a point about everyone starting with a clean slate. Obviously what players do from here is what matters. The Giants obviously have some big investments to consider with Beckham.
The tipping point would be if Beckham's off-field drama impacts the team more than the benefits on having him on the field. I don't believe the front office believe that at this point. Gettleman has shown with Josh Norman, he is willing to shed star players for a better team outcome; he is willing to make the tough business decisions.
Should we be wanting to move on from Beckham, I imagine John Dorsey would be quite keen and has the resources to get it done. I don't think anything is likely, but if these kind of antics continue, the patience of the Giant's front office could start to wear thin.
