Pat Leonard of the NY Dailynews just stated on ESPN Radio that he doesn’t believe Odell Beckham Jr is a member of the Giants on Week 1 of the 2018 Season.
No chance. If they trade him (which I don't think they have any intention of doing), it will happen before this draft so they can get an immediate return.
The team should move on ...get a 1st rounder for him.
He doesn’t seem capable of representing the NY Giants enterprise and that’s what he would be going forward.
Keep asking this but does anyone have any actual proof that distractions truly exist in the pro sports landscape? I know the label exists. But is it really a thing? There’s tons of evidence to conclude that it’s a made up myth. Tons.

If there are players on the New York Giants who are distracted by what OBJ does in the offseason, I'd very much like the management to figure this out and cut them.
That's the funniest, funniest, excuse making bullshit I've ever heard. Imagine what a total unaccountable loser wimp it would take to say that.
It's possible the Gettelman/Shurmur regime decides to sell him off. Â
They are looking for a generational talent with the second pick. They already HAVE one in OBJ. You don't give that away. You keep at it until you get him somewhat under control. He's not going anywhere.
Based on something that a real tuned in NFL person just told me about Beckham my opinion has changed. All of the things he does make sense when filtered through the lens of information. Don't even ask. I'm not reporting what I was told because I have been down that road before and it doesn't play well here.
make the rare move of paying a non-QB before his contract is up. Yes, he is a big media personality, yes he got some personal foul penalties that hurt the team, yes, he went on a boat cruise and played poorly in his first playoff appearance, yea, he punched a sheet rock wall, and YES, he was on video with a wide brown cigarette in his hand and some girl with some white stuff and a credit card (I have only seen stills, I haven't seen the actual video), but the Giants need to keep the best player they have had since L.T. Pay the guy now, and by the time his 3, 4, or 5 year extension is up, and he's still a top 3 WR in the league, his contract will be reasonable.
Of course Giants fans won't bemoan doing anything else when he's inducted into the HOF on another team that WILL pay him.
He should be paid as the top WR in the game this offseason. Thats what it's going to be. He's not getting top QB money. He's a business man, I think he will accept that reality. They will have to pay him more than Mike Evans no doubt, but they might as well do that now or they will have to pay even more.

It's not like that. I've shared a lot here. I'm don't need attention. I've killed Beckham here more than anyone.
I do have to agree with Leonard here and I think he will be traded for sure though. I think this last video is going to force a conversation.
Also...one more thing....if you look really hard the info was actually posted on the internet somewhere today.

Not to defend TLG, but he caught a ton of shit for the AR and the MWGCS. My guess is that the info that was shared to TLG is along those lines. Hence, "it doesn't play well here".
Taylor was not a distraction his demons played out in private. Taylor never made a spectacle of himself on the field was never a look at me guy during games. It was a different time obviously with no social media. Beckum isn't anywhere close tot he player Taylor was either. I'll drive him to Cleveland for the #1 pick and their 2nd round picks.

Not sure if video is legit or not. If OBJ insists on acting like a college kid (at best) ,
Giants should not negotiate any contract with him.
Who knows , Goddell may be calling at this moment. Time for random drug test!
If they can get a 1st and some later pick next year -- OBJ, Enjoy your new life in
AZ,Indiana, maybe Baltimore
It is past time for him to be acting this way. If nothing else - put away the camera.

That's 100% true. LT was an all time great. Beckum was a disappointment, even for a 3rd round pick. But I doubt Cleveland is giving us anything for a player who hasn't played since 2011.
Nothing like the fake insider teasing the marks. Â
All you have to do to get a bite is say you have secret info and you're definitely not sharing. At least one person without fail is gonna listen to what you have to say.
The next time Pat Leonard is right about the Giants s Â
the same thing.
Coming off a bad injury, remember Victor and Hakeem, character issues, and he wants BIG BUCKS the Giants can replace him within the new offense. This is not the JR/EA offense any more. I say trade him.
He is the only player on the NYG with unmistakable hall of fame ability. Sounds like Gettleman rightly highly valued those types of players. I can’t see him going anywhere.

Agreed. I realize we don't win 7 games 2 years ago without him, but I don't like the idea of OBJ being the locker room leader for years to come. He's no LT or Strahan. Draft the sky high character guys like Barkley and Nelson and build our culture around them.
The thing you seem to not understand is folks on this site appreciate learning about and talking about football. If you know something interesting and want to share it in a relevant conversation that's awesome.
Lots of posters through the years have done that and been really great contributors. It makes the site special.
But knowing something private about a player or situation, and then slapping your own back constantly that you said it, and derailing virtually every conversation on the topic isn't fun for anyone.
I'd also be very, very careful posting about players private lives. What's the value?
My company, in which I'm pretty high-ranking, works with pro athletes regularly, including a lot OBJ last year. His private choices and lifestyle are not secerets among anyone who's spent any amount of social time with him. I know lots of people who know him.
But I don't know him. The only thing I've witnessed is he's incredibly nice and really pleasant to work with.
Sharing anything else would just be weird and nasty.

I cant even tell what your opinion was before so I dont know what it is now either. Spill the beans :)
OBJ is the worst type of player for your team. All world talent creating the illusion we should win with him but enough of a head-case on the field that he will be a liability in big spots. I do not give this guy a huge contract when we are rebuilding. In fact, I don't want him on my team.

You are 100% right. It's difficult to see stupidity from people who think they have any understanding of reality but in the end there are lines that should not be crossed.

I can't believe people actually think like this. OBJ is the worst type of player for your team. I guess you are entitled to your opinion, but it's based on nonsense. You don't like the guy so he's bad for the team. Nothing else supports this thought. The guy is the best WR in football, his teammates rally around him and say nothing but great things about his abilities and work ethic. He's flamboyant and attracts attention due to his lifestyle, but that doesn't effect games in the least.
Pat Leonard is to the Giants what Manish Mehta is to the Jets.

I think Manish is actually worse. After his tweets this week about a players drinking problem and FA, he can't be very welcome in the locker room
Shh according to him it was the giants fault they couldn't get patricia...
That is a famous daily news tactic, if they report something done and it doesn't happen it is the organization's fault for not completing the deal
Are you calling the posters on this thread idiots and morons? YOU?

There has to one more clue to narrow it down. Its like saying there was a small plane that went down in the ocean somewhere today but if you look really hard you will find it. Can you at least say which "ocean" if you are going to send us on a wild goose chase. I don't mind the search, kinda find it fun even if it turns out to be BS. I am in the midst of procrastinating so this is a perfect challenge at this momement. Twitter, Facebook, instragram, comments section of a online newspaper, website, fan forum, ect. . .
Website. Probably one of the top 3 or 4 in it's genre and number 1 in its subgenre.
And I'm not even being coy it's just not the type of info that can be shared around here. I'm sorry I can't give you any more than that.
This guy is such a jerkoff and makes Slate look relevant . Myles Jack for life [/quote]
